He saw that the fans loved to shout "Noooot" and he liked it. He saw that Noot played for Japan in the WBC and he liked it. He saw Noot hit a ball really hard in a batting cage with his shirt off and he liked it...a lot. He saw and heard that the analytic geeks said Noot is good and "should" have a lot of good "projected" stats and he liked it. He forgot, however, that Noot cannot provide any real value or real stats to the team to help them win and is very, very average (at best).
Is it a coincidence that the team has regressed ever simce the day Noot returned? Possibly. Possibly not.
I am sure Noot would be an okay 4th OFer who fills in occasionally from time to time. But that is not who the Cards have tried to make him out to be. He is not an every day guy and is certainly not a middle of the order hitter, yet Marmol has tried this year after year. Not Noot's fault, but the Cardinals (namely Mo.and Marmol) fell hard.
Hopefully Bloom will finally rid themselves of the Noot once and for all.
The only unsettling thing is that Super Slo Mo and the BFIB could not see the obvious 4 years ago.
