That is ok, no need to apologize. I was really surprised to see a righty coming in. Oli pinch running for Herrera is pathetic but for some reason he only knows pinch run, the upgrade in speed being minimal and the later loss of one of his big threats don't seem to occur to him. He has such paint by numbers rote moves already prepared. He likes to inject himself into the action whether it is positive or not. He is not a good manager.

That's one way to look at it .. You didn't want to put a guy who ran better than Herrera to give you better odds of scoring on a base hit in bottom of 8th.. get the run IN and then you hold Cubs in top of the 9th and win the game. Oli is trying to win the game by giving himself the best odds of scoring right then in 8th rather than 'saving' a pinch hitter type guy for extra innniugs etc. He didn't score in the 8th but won't criticize him for trying to take the lead in last of the 8th and holding Cubs scoreless in 9th .

I’ve seen more mental errors in baseball over the years they are too many to count. I’ve seen players tossed the ball into the stands thinking there were three outs when they weren’t. It happens. That was in the fourth ending. The Cardinal should’ve scored some runs.
