I agree- been watching for 65 years. If they are still in the game I normally watch till the end or until the wheels come off but as you said there are a lot of other things to do.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 17:31 pmThey need to play well enough to prevent fans from wanting to put out their own eyes with ice picks. Unfortunately, this diversion has become an aggravation.

About the same years for me. 1960 to now. I remember following any way I could, including the transistor radio for late night west coast games. We are lucky to be able to watch all the games we are, although the selling certain games by MLB is annoying. I take the night off when they do that, although I subscribe to one or two that have the broadcast. Direct TV used to have all the games.hotrivets wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 17:37 pmI agree- been watching for 65 years. In a so called rebuild year this has to be the dumbest lineup ever. NOW WHAT if May is injured?

Ironically, last night, I did just this. I have never done that before. I couldn't take it. Of course, it is the Cubs, so that made it worse. I turned on The Shawshank Redemption and watched it for about the millionth time.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 17:31 pmThey need to play well enough to prevent fans from wanting to put out their own eyes with ice picks. Listened to tons of games on the old transistor radio. For some reason Direct gave me the baseball package so there are plenty of other games on every night and I can hear some quality announcers!MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 17:49 pmAbout the same years for me. 1960 to now. I read both newspapers Globe and Post, and had an Uncle who save the Sporting News, at one time the Baseball Bible for me. Read them from cover to cover. The minor league section was the Craviduce of their time.hotrivets wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 17:57 pmListened to tons of games on the old transistor radio. TSN was the goods, back in the day. I’m gonna paraphrase Harry from, I believe, 1965: “You know you’re in trouble when you walk into the clubhouse and see more copies of “The Wall Street Journal” than “The Sporting News.”MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 18:01 pmI read both newspapers Globe and Post, and had an Uncle who save the Sporting News, at one time the Baseball Bible for me. BTV is just a estimated guide, but May's BTV was +5.6 a couple weeks ago, then he had a bad start and it fell to +4.6, then after his good start in his last appearance it rebounded to his current +5.7. A 2nd straight good start tonight and maybe it touches +6, idk, lol.
Thanks cosmo for the gdt, you're doing an awesome job with it.

Herrera's gidp's out of the 2 hole were problematic. With Walker's speed, he shouldn't gidp at the same rate IH was doing. Then again, I didn't check the stats ahead of time but would think this would be the case.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑29 Jul 2026 16:10 pmI want my best hitter to get as many chances as possible, to make an impact. Yes, thank you, Cosmo.
I have on “The Battle of Ohio,” the Guardians at the Reds. Might be more fun to watch when I don’t have a hoss in the race.
