Just for the record, I liked Templeton and disliked the trade for Ozzie. Didn't take long for Ozzie to win me over. Templeton was a really good player, Ozzie was a winning player.

I was at the game when he made the crude gesture to the crowd after they booed his lazy efforts…unacceptable behavior for those times. He had to go.

There was a poster made of him, grabbing his crotch with the caption, “This one’s for you!”

I don’t believe him. Nobody else has confirmed this, including Herzog who was as straight a shooter as there was. Nothing was picked up on the video I linked either. He also claimed he ran to first which is clearly another lie.
