Too funny
LOL....you nailed it Riff.
I’m sure I’ll get hammered as I see this thread has been taken over by the Rocket Scientists. 😉
Pretty easy to tell who did and didn’t play sports by the way they post.
Can’t hammer on McGreevy for his rare off night.
He’s been good all season!
I haven't seen anyone hammering on McG. He's been our best pitcher this season.

The offense deserves all of the heat they are getting on this board. They are beyond awful and have been for over a month now.

Our starters are sketchy, our relievers generally suck, and we can't hit. Why aren't we winning more games?

Walker and Burly should be hitting 3 and/or 4.
Noot and JJ 1-2.
Ivan 5
Jordan 6 - SSS but seems to have a knack for rbi.
Winn and Church 8-9
C when Ivan is DH or DH hits 7.

When nobody in your lineup can hit, it doesn't much matter where they are placed in the lineup.
Does it matter when you move your best hitter league leading RBI guy from 3 or 4 in the lineup hitting behind 750+ OPS guys to 2nd in the lineup behind 500 and low 6 OPS at 8-9?
It doesn't matter when nobody can hit.

The team is dead last in every offensive category there is over the last month +.
So if the results are bad (“nobody can hit”), it doesn’t matter that the lineup is nonsensical?

Interesting take.

It’s not my fault it’s so easy……

So change nothing and keep things exactly the same? This was the worst offense in MLB for like 4 weeks and then the order was shifted around I'm assuming to try and spark something, ANYTHING. Everyone continues to not be able to hit, so yes, it doesn't much matter where they are in the order.

...close...it was 11 pitches. Rea has thrown 21 pitches in 2 innings, about as a third as many as McGreevy in less than 2 innings. and gets to rest in an air conditioned area behind the dugout between innings...

Even McGreevy has got the bug. Just going thru the motions and not locating like we all know he can. This is a concentration issue, and the looming deadline has sucked it out of them.
They gave them a chance to prove they were worth keeping together thats all they can ask they have proven they arent
And yet the youngest and least likely players to be traded are the ones suddenly looking the softest right now if that’s what we think this is. Which is concerning for the core of the future.

McGreevy was due for a clunker.

This isnt the same team the Cardinals played earlier this season.

The Cubs are a veteran group looking to make a playoff run and likely will if their pitchers ever get healthy.

We should start referring to it as “the batting odor.”
