...I think we're seeing the "rookie effect" at this point... The team can be discouraged with losing. They are learning though, and should show more improvement as the season goes along...
Wish I had your optimism cbcloud. I just don't feel it lately.
...I'm "barely" optimistic. I picked them to finish 82-80 this season, but they will have to play better than they have since the AS game if that happens.

It is hard for a team of rookies to mesh quickly, especially when players are switched in and out, not batting regularly, and playing different positions many games. The only 2 rookies who have had consistent play at the same position is JJ and Church. I know management is trying to "catch lightning in a bottle," but I think that hurts as much or more than it helps...
CB, I had ‘em at 76-86 preseason and into the season. I’ve hoped that they’ll make a liar out of me, but it’s looking gloomier and gloomier.

Can’t they see the Cubs fielders playing them up the middle? Huge hole to the right side and not one batter has tried to hit it!

I either had 70-92 or 72 and 90. Think the first. I hope they do better than that.

Even in softball, before standing in, we checked the fielding alignment. Why don’t these guys try to help themselves ou?

I wonder if Happ has ever thought about giving up switch hitting?
He flat out stinks hitting RH!
We can steal this game.

That would require selflessness. That's where the leadership void shows.

This team does not situation hit at all, in any form or fashion.

...You may be closer than my prediction. They have some tough games left in the season, particularly the last 6, which are on the road against the Pirates and Milwaukee. That could sink the season right there, if not before...

Rolison has thrown 9 pitches only 1 in the strike zone.
