So far it seems like we did pretty well at the trade deadline last year.
We got Blaze Jordan for 2 months of Steven Matz. Blaze looks like he will be able to hit and has done better at 3B than I expected.
We got Mason Molina for 2 months of Phil Maton. Molina has progressed to AAA and looks like he will at least make it to the majors.
We got Jesus Baez for 2 months of Ryan Helsely. I hated this trade, but it seems like they knew what they were doing. They have cleaned up the rough edges on Baez and he now has the look of a dynamic player.
Looking forward to seeing what this week brings.

Yes, me tool They have to keep piling up prospects and eventually they will find a few diamonds in the rough. Nothing is a guarantee with prospects, and in my opinion you need as many as you can get. That way when a lot of them flop you still have the breakout few, who are the real deal.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 16:45 pm So far it seems like we did pretty well at the trade deadline last year.

Too bad the '23 deadline was comically bad.
If we'd have hit on SOMETHING that deadline, we'd be in a better spot. Instead we got Prieto, who is awful. Drew Rom, who was awful. Matt Svanson who needs no introduction, and Thomas Saggese who has also done nothing of worth.

He chased low-hanging fruit. A hurt pitcher, a suck pitcher, and a guy that has seemingly disappeared.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 16:58 pmWay too much quantity over quality that year.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 16:57 pm2023 trade deadline was a Mo [censored]Strummer Jones wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 16:53 pm Too bad the '23 deadline was comically bad.

Yeah. I think Clarke may be one of the best additions when all is said and done.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 16:45 pm So far it seems like we did pretty well at the trade deadline last year.

I would like to see Baez get some facetime in AAA (or AA) at 3B.
