I grew up maybe 30 miles from there. I been to Sikeston many times. I even worked at the ice cream plant one summer.
If you grew up 30 miles, that puts you from Cape, to Chaffee to dexter to portageville circle. Somewhere in there.
I grew up in Stoddard county. And have several family in Oran. My grandmother lived just outside of Chaffee. My dad lived in Cape. My mom used to go to Dexter a lot since it was closer to shop there than Cape. I've been all over that area.
I remember when the Throwed roll was as big as a softball.
It was on the very edge of Sikeston across from Potlach. Then they moved to miner.
I still think there was another place but it eludes me.![]()

Exactly! Too many on here would gladly slot 9 stone handed fielders into the lineup because they can hit. Guess they forgot how frustrating the 2016 Cardinals were.2ninr wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 06:41 amNot only that but you mess up the whole infield defense. Your corner players are slow and average. The combo of Winn and JJ covers a lot for them.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026 14:29 pmI agree with your thoughts. Poor defensive teams are really hard for me to watch. Edit also I think some people have really bad memories. Masyn is the first really good ss we've had since Edgar. Part of the beauty of the game is the ss who can field the ball in the whole and make the throw to first in time to beat the runner. It's like the homerun of defense.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 12:08 pmExactly! Too many on here would gladly slot 9 stone handed fielders into the lineup because they can hit. Me too. And they generally suck. But some on here think its slow pitch softball.2ninr wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 13:07 pmPoor defensive teams are really hard for me to watch.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 12:08 pmExactly! Re: Who would you trade. 10 days to deadline.
From what I have read/heard there seems to be a demand for righty bat with some power especially catcher position.
I don’t think Bloom is seeking to ‘sell’ on Herera but sure believe Bloom will get several calls on his availability as he fits the above criteria . Hr helped himself with thr solo HR today.
Bloom could get some nice value either solo snd/or package him with others.
A Herera trade would not surprise me if Bloom gets the package he desires IMO
