My only caveat for trading controllable talent from the Major League roster is I would only be interested in players that are ready to contribute now or next year at the latest.

Even if I'm not expecting them to be a playoff team this season, what I've seen this year is that this core could realistically be ready to compete for a deep postseason run as soon as next year with the right roster configuration. Jo Jo is the only FA of any significance. May can opt out and was signed to be traded. Stanek and O'Brien have value to playoff runners. Crooks to a team that wants a controllable catcher. All these can go by the deadline.

Not only that but you mess up the whole infield defense. Your corner players are slow and average. The combo of Winn and JJ covers a lot for them.
