I’d say they might not score again while Greene is pitching

And the sad thing is only Walker and Burly have more hits than Ivan the last 5 gvames.
That is sad. The bottom of the order is sad. Jordan maybe the exception

Voldemort wrote: 25 Jul 2026 17:01 pm How does it make sense to place the hitter who was tops in the NL in RBIs at the All-Star Break to 2nd in the lineup? Obviously, it isn't working and this team is not scoring runs.
2nd spot gives your best hitter more at bats. This is his third game batting 2nd all season
As it potentially gives a hitter more at bats which, most likely is one more, it also potentially gives a hitter fewer RBI chances.
And that hitter's extra at bats over the course of a season lead to more RBI chances for the team as a whole
Is there some source I could read that stat in? I believe that both the 3rd and 4th places in the order offer more opportunities than one more "probable" at bat.

Agree which is why I question taking a very hittable 3-0 pitch. It was going to be the best pitch to hit Burly was going to see the rest of the at bat.

What would you change?
I would give the lefty-righty strategy a break. And I would not be putting a fatigued looking Herrera behind the plate. If it is a rebuild season, play the young catcher. After all, he had one of your two hits last night. And i just do not understand the infatuation with putting your most dangerous bat second. That guy should be third or cleanup. I would go:

Wetherholt
Nootbaar
Walker
Burleson
Jordan
Herrera
Winn
Crooks
Church
Yep. Finally someone who understands it.

Noot 5 and Winn 6 is ludicrous. So is hitting the RBI leader 2nd. Get real. Marmol must go!
