This team was expected to win 69.5 games and they're playing basically .500. That's a massive overachievement to this point. But, yeah let's fire the Manager. Maybe plug any of the other major gaps this roster has, just like everyone was saying in March.

What exactly is Pujols going to do with a lineup that has Winn hitting 6th?

Oli is a really nice guy, company man all the way.

But (IMO) he's NOT the Manager who will ever take this team to where it wants to go.

Someone called him a "place holder" the other day and I agree.

BDWJr was NOT going to pay three times what he's paying Oli for a quality Manager to baby sit the 2026 team and possibly to play golf during a (potential) lockout.

Sure hope C. Bloom had a handshake agreement w/Bill that after he weeded out the large contracts (DONE), re-stocked the farm system (DONE) and the new CBA was in place he'd then get hire HIS Manager!

Trade for K. Cash! :D

Easy solution..Don't hire either as a manager.
Ding ding ding.

Don't hire someone you're not prepared to fire at any point.

Because the headline "CARDS FIRE BASEBALL LEGEND PUJOLS/MOLINA AFTER 5-27 START" gives me nightmares.

So lets just have a manager with no previous major league experience because he is easy to fire.
Everyone knows that's where this is headed. Oli is a placeholder and everyone knows he isn't capable of guiding this team to a title.

Is that you Mo? How many sockpuppet accounts do you have in here? So many management shills in here seems very suspicious.

You're deliberately missing the point here.

You could hire Jack Clark to manage here. If he sucks, you cut bait, no biggie. Important Cardinal, great career. Doubt the average 0-40 year old in...say...New York (or any other non-St. Louis baseball city) is gonna know the name.

I don't know if you can say the same for Molina or Pujols. Both were generational talents at what they did.

Also...if it's about experience...Marmol had more minor league managerial experience than both Molina and Pujols at this point. Not to mention experience as a non-manager coach in MLB.

And if we're only talking PLAYER experience...how come Frank Robinson didn't have a hall of fame managing career? Or Ted Williams? Why didn't Bob Gibson take off in his coaching career? Or Gabe Kapler/Rocco Baldelli/Dave Ross/the dozens of others who didn't leave much of a mark? Our own Mike Matheny?

Would Cash want to do this? Leave the Tampa area (and a perineal playoff contender) for StL? I know the Cardinals have more history. But in the present they aren't better. And going forward, they will be run by the exact same model.

Three things in life you don’t do regarding money- give a friend a job?, give family a loan, and don’t give a managers job to franchise heroes.

They do not work.

Who knows?

I know from what I've read he and C. Bloom are close friends from Blooms days in Tampa.

Maybe he'd welcome the challenge to team again w/Bloom and build this historic franchise back to prominence?

The team wasn't setting the world on fire when W. Jocketty lured TLR to St. Louis but our rich history lured Tony here!

It inevitably will lead to awkwardness
Red Schoendienst did fine. The bar is not exactly very high at the moment.

Oli ain't the answer no matter how much the shills in here tell us.

Was watch a segment of Randy K & Bernie M today. Bernie said DeWitt likes the Tampa model but wants to retain guys. Hes already signed Wetherholt. Guessing he will attempt to sign Walker. Anyone else? Winn or Burleson?

No L-T extension for Winn---need offense too from SS and Cards have 5 SS prospects in the system.

Burly's a bit too old (turns 29) for more than a 3 yr deal

I imagine this would probably go over about as well as the Matheny experiment, but on the upside the homers would eat it up and they could start selling those jerseys again.
