He’s had a hit in every game but one since the derby and had two today he will be fine people just freaking out over small sample sizes of him going hitless in one game since the derby lol
Yes, you are correct about how some freak out over a few games where a player goes hitless, etc. Have seen JJ Wetherholt posts the same way.
They will say OMG JJ is __ for __ in the past number of games. Wetherholt , in the last polls I saw, continues to be the leader for N.L. Rookie of the Year race. Those freaking out are the same types that after a rough outing by a reliever jump on the forum demanding the pitcher be sent down to Memphis or even DFA . That is the fate for some here and there but a tough start and /or reliever blowup doesn't mean the guy is a bum. Heck, the nervous nellies would have traded or released Walker at the start of this year too.

He’s the best ever
The best ever? There are more than a few hall of famers, who have a valid claim to that title.
Sorry. Small sample overreaction disagrees.

Herrera is awful since then as well.
O’ Brien has struggled.
Average OPS, post All-Star game home run Derby, is -40 points in the second half.

So walker being in the derby is to blame for Herrera and O’Brien sucking also? lol

Forum is full of knee jerkers on both sides.

Guy has a good outing one day he's earned his bonafidees.

Next day he gets blown up its DFA time.

Takes time to know what you're looking at if you know what to look for.

It's amusing how many folks waste their time here but too each their own.

Well, yea. Oli too!! They showed up to the derby to support Walker when they should have been relaxing and resting. Clearly that has affected them.

Well I think rest, too much, alters an in focus mind, relaxes muscles to much, and takes one out of game face.

One day is sufficient unless injury saddled. That’s why I don’t like the set in stone day off. If someone is on fire, I don’t sit him. Ride that focused olayer.

Last nine games since AS break. 36 AB - 9 H- . 250 average- 3 Runs- 3 RBI 0 HR.

Scoring 3 runs means either - he isn’t on base, which he is, or he is not being driven in, which hes not.

RBI either no one is on ahead of his nine hits, four which were doubles, or hes not hitting for power.

Ace. 250 is ok. I think the league woke up, and he is being pitched differently.

Anyone.

One more thought. The moving him in the lineup- is this removing men on base in front of him.

It's funny how we can make up a narrative in our heads and believe it.

Edmonds homered the first game after the AS break that year. Yes he slumped a bit after the break (3 for 32) but he did the same thing in May where he went 4 for 38 at one point. After that 3 for 32 stretch he hit .300 with a 1.116 OPS from August 12-September 2nd. And then guess what? He went through a cold stretch again to end the season. If anything maybe it's the timing of having a break and getting your rhythm back.

Not as many RBI chances hitting second or third. I don't understand why he was moved out of the 4th spot.

I think it's just a stretch where he's hitting ok, but not great. He has 4 doubles in the last 7 games. This month has been tied for the most doubles he has hit in a month. I think he's getting closer. He still hasn't had back to back games without a hit since June.

He's Mr. Consistent.

Wins: .301/.358/.541 11 HR 39 RBI 18 BB 55 K
Losses: .277/.349/.489 11 HR 38 RBI 17 BB 52 K

Good point. That was my last note. The nine hits he got, four were doubles. If there are/were runners aboard, he gets an rbi.

You have a good point.

Oli moves Walker who was leading the Majors in RBI to hitting second or third in the lineup. I just don't get the thought process.

In an odd way, it’s like the manager has taken he bat out of his hands.

No, the All-Star game is why they all suck right now.
