He’s had a hit in every game but one since the all star break lol OMG he’s forgotten how to hit. Also the three slumps he had prior to the all star break must be because he thought he might be in the home run derby

I doubt Walker thinks it was tripe. Afterall, he won $1,000,000 which is a tad over $200K more than his annual Redbird salary.dhsux wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 18:39 pmAnd what have you accomplished in your life to call the HR derby participants or their result of competition "tripe"?scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 18:16 pmWorthless tripe exhibitiondhsux wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 18:14 pmWhile I did not want him to do it....he made the absolute most of it didn't he?AtillaTheBlue1 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 18:07 pm I remember when Edmonds claimed on tims show, that it messed with his swing, and he struggled to end the season.
HR derby and swing? fact, fiction, not enough evidence.
i fully expect Walker to crush one after posting this in 8th.

Might be that he is getting fewer pitches to hit after his coming out party.

He’s had a hit in every game but one since the derby and had two today he will be fine people just freaking out over small sample sizes of him going hitless in one game since the derby lol

But maybe not getting pitches he can drive. I haven’t seen all the games so don’t know what pitches he hit for those singles and doubles.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 20:18 pmHe’s had a hit in every game but one since the derby and had two today he will be fine people just freaking out over small sample sizes of him going hitless in one game since the derby lol

It’s my understanding that Walker treats BP like it’s a home run Derby and hits monster bombs.

He doubled his salary for the year after a 2 hour event. More power to him.
He almost took one deep since the break and he hit a line drive to the gap today.
He'll be fine.

Re: since HR derby, walker 6 for 29 0 hr
When Edmonds made those comments, the format for the HR was far different than the 2026 version. A few years ago when it was a 'timed' session the players had oodles of more swings and would get quite exhausted by the final round. MLB addressed that and have far less swings than years prior.AtillaTheBlue1 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 18:07 pm I remember when Edmonds claimed on tims show, that it messed with his swing, and he struggled to end the season.

So the Edmonds comments of old do not apply IMO.

Walker will be fine. Half those hits are doubles.AtillaTheBlue1 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 18:07 pm I remember when Edmonds claimed on tims show, that it messed with his swing, and he struggled to end the season.

The team in general just isn’t hitting rn. Walker can’t do it all hinself. But get the lineup going again and he will be mashing away.

Plus, three of those hits have been doubles. As long as he’s getting extra base hits, not worried. The HRs will come.

I saw Twitter posts saying how the HR derby is letting anyone in now about Walker.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 18:28 pmI find that hard to believe
He led MLB in RBIs. Not sure what evidence you have of that, especially when the Cards were talk as a surprise team this year

You are correct, this will not matter. Amazing the lengths that people will go to in order to justify something that they believe for whatever reason.ronnie76 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2026 22:08 pmNot that they will matter.
