You’re probably correct, but it’s weird; I’ve been following them for 36 seasons, and I’ve never heard anything about any Blues GM targeting players of their specific origin until recently with Steen. It’s discussed A LOT that we are turning into the St. Louis Swedes.
We didn't draft a single suede did we?
We filled our Swedish quota with the Gastrin pickup.

Jarmo seemed to be attracted to them.

That's true we did trade for one.

I just see this as Ott having a soldier to help teach the kids in the AHL. No way he has any chance to make this team.

And no disrespect Tim, but I have no idea how you are connecting this nothing-burger AHL signing to it meaning Nikishin is coming in??? Makes zero sense those two things are related.

This actually makes the most sense.

Throw him a bone for loyalty and keeping him around. Leave him on the Vegas LTIR unless they absolutely need him.

I don't think anyone here knows the extent of his knee injury. If he is out for an extended period, he gets sent down on paper but stays with his family here while he rehabs with the Blues people. If he gets healthy enough he plays in the AHL and helps out Ott. Transition......

That is more or less just tongue in cheek because of the recent smoke about them being interested in Nikishin.

Your observation does nothing to further the narrative sir. We’ll be the Swedish Elite Team in two years at this rate according to the asylum.

Tim (for some reason I don’t know the history of a Pierre McGuire name change) ;
Book it that DP57 is coming next. He’d be a more valuable signing and is a leader to all the players.

Didn’t someone predict Tarasenko was coming back too?

Holloway Thomas Snuggy
McMichael McTavish Buch
Jake Dvorsky Berggren
Torpo Suter Johnston
Walker Finley Dube
Sunny Stenberg Carbonneau

4 of these guys can’t be on team. Stenberg and Carbonneau can play in minors I guess but still…

They can sure compete for spots though.

I think Steen has made it pretty clear this slow start [shirt] is over.

There will be plenty of competition at camp. I wouldn't be surprised to see Stenberg and Carboneau start the season in the A unless they completely dominate at camp. Walker, Dube and Finley will have to earn their way on to the team or be demoted, traded or released.I don't see Johnston dressing every game.

100%

It's a nice little golden parachute they gave to a good soldier. Plenty of cap space (even without LTIR). And he'll likely move into some sort of organizational spot later. Nothing negative about this at all.

Hes the same age as RJ and Binnington. He isnt some dinosaur.

Coach on the ice. Doesnt need to dress every game. Valuable on the PK. If it doesnt work out, he goes down to the A and helps out Otter.
