Buch to Detroit being proposed

Buch contract is becoming less negative with the cap rising. It's more or less in line with 6.5-7M now, will be in line with more or less 5.5-6M by the end of it. We will be able to work around it, so no sense doing something that makes zero sense just to dump that cap hit. In addition, he was stuck with kyrou who while a good goal scorer was also a turnover machine and did not carry as much weight defensively (he did get better in later seasons but still below average). I'd bet on a resurgence

Just asking...would you suggest to Detroit that they submit to Larkin if he would accept a trade to St. Louis straight-up for Pavel Buchnevich?
Cannot hurt to ask; but more importantly if it went through as such, would you do it?
(Note, I am not interested to hear what else it may take to complete this trade, or if Yzerman would say no, or if Larkin would say no. That is all independent of my quest for current value assessment given the current events.)

Doesn't matter to Larkin what he is traded for. Only matters to him where he's going.

I don't follow your post. Why would Detroit ask Larkin if he's OK being traded for Buchnevich. Larkin has a known four team list that doesn't include the Blues.

Fair enough response...Larkin started with 3 and then added Dallas; so maybe if he gets frustrated enough, then he'll add another?

Thats fine and again Buch's production two years in a row (20 goals) for $8 million isnt that great but losing Buch for a kid who may or may not contribute right away creates another hole. Berggren has never scored 20, Stenberg?
I dont think Buch is going anywhere he may be a good fit on a McTavish line Buch is pretty good in his own end

There was a great article posted on the NFL site last year from an NFL writer that basically said he get paid by clicks and need to get something the fans of a team will click on regardless if there is any basis for the article. The guy in that article basically said he reads forums and blogs to see which player are trigger points for that fan base and writes a vague unsubstantiated article on that player, and then sits back and watches the feeding frenzy. This seems to be what many beat writers do these days as they need clicks to stay ahead of other writers.
