Tippet would potentially be available if Anaheim doesn't match the Carlson offer sheet. Philly will have potential cap trouble and they have plenty of right handed shots and right wings. They would want a left wing in a Tippet trade I presume.

You'd have to do Neighbours (Or Stenberg), next year's first, and something else for Tippet. Maybe say Korotky. Trying to make a similar trade to the Kyrou trade.
I actually see it as if they land #1C Carlsson, it makes 2C unsigned RFA Zegras available. Tippett is under a nice contract, and with that $18M albatross, they need all of those they can get and I don't suspect Zegras signs for cheap after his season and them signing Carlsson like that.
So what you're suggesting is Zegras signs an offer sheet with the Ducks? Hmm, interesting. Wonder if there is someone out there who can mock him up in a Ducks jersey...

Id consider it based on who I thought would be the better overall player. Wright is three years farther along in his development and better fits the current 5 year window.

I personally don't see Carbonneau being a fit on a line with Dvorsky as they are both shooters. Maybe with a pass-first player on the wing that works. I like Wright a lot better with Dvorsky.

I guess end of the day I probably wouldn't want to lose the right shot of Carbonneau even to gain Wright I'd be trying to make it happen almost any other way.
Probably not even a thing, Ive not really seen any indication the Blues are interested in Wright.

Ha, well the problem there is Zegras has to sign the offer sheet. McTavish seemed to indicate the bridge was burned.

Yup. It's mostly some of us on the board here doing all the various suggestions about right shot players that might be available.

The Blues haven't said one way or another as if they're done or not done, and I'm sure they won't tip their hands. The last time I heard Steen speak he said (paraphrase) "I feel good right now with the team, I'm heading home for today, I'll have my phone on, I'll never stop looking for ways to improve the club. We value competition."

At one time there were Kyrou for Wright rumors but that's been a long time ago. Nothing recent. The Wright talk came back around this board in the last week or less because Seattle and Wrights agent let it be known they would move him.

I think Carbo will be a player that Blues fans are happy to have on their team for years to come. There’s not many players that standout in warmups compared to the rest of the team.
Oh I don't want to lose Carbonneau whatsoever.

Maybe...but Philly has already been floating Tippetts name around. I think it's more likely they run Carlson and Zegras as their top 6 centers and Konechy and Martone as their top 6 RWs...plus they still have Forester and Tippet who shoot right..they are loaded with right hand shots. And Michkov plays right wing too, shoots left.

If they get Carlson my guess is they roll out...

Dvorak (left), Carlson (left), Konechny (right)
Tippet (right), zegras (left), Martone (right)
Foerster (right), Cates (left), Michkov (left)

Sure looks to me like they'd be open to move Tippet or Foerster for a left handed shot.

I wonder if the Blues would consider moving McMichael for Tippett but that seems like a stretch. Plus Philly will start to have cap issues if this Carlson thing goes and they want to sign Zegras. Would seem they'd want to move out Tippet for a player on an ELC. Or Foerster for a player on an ELC. Foerster will be an RFA next year. I'd have interest in him also.

Foerster signed an 8yr x $7.1m deal with the Flyers last week. I doubt he’s going anywhere.

Oh I didn't see that. Thanks.

They got 28MM in cap and may end up here with 18MM for Carlson and most of the rest for Zegras. They're going to have to do something with someone.

Again, the blues have made their moves. We all debated and discussed why are we posing these brand new silly trades that are never gonna happen?

Are we just dreaming?
Can we not handle the fact that all the trades happened and now we have to deal with the team that we have what is the purpose of all this madness?

Wright is asking for a trade.

The Flyers may have to make a trade.

The Blues have an abundance at left wing and a shortage of right hand shots.

None of this is madness.

I understand how you speculate, but please substantiate, with legitimate sources (internet repetitions or copy and paste don't count) your three assertions.

No man go back and read the thread. There's a link about Wright being up for trade. There's a discussion on the flyers roster. You can go look for yourself at the Biues roster and see the abundance of left handed shots. I don't need to hold your hand.

And that's not an assertion. It's a fact.

I'll bite.

Elliott Friedman discussed Wright's situation on his 32 Thoughts podcast. Wright's agent confirmed that Seattle has said it plans to try and trade him.

The Flyers currently have 29.5M in cap space. If the Carlsson deal goes through they will have 11.5M left. Zegras and Drysdale are both unsigned RFAs (offer sheet anyone?) who will command substantial raises. Drysdale warrants a Broberg level contract. Zegras could get 9M. If the Flyers want to keep both, something has to give somewhere else on the roster (again... if Anaheim doesn't match Carlsson).

The Blues have 3 right-handed shots in the entire forward group, and of those only Snuggerud is a Top 9 winger. That isn't ideal.

Sorry but Drysdale is going to get paid.
