Re: Rumored price for Kyrou
Kyrou can't be happy with his ice time going from 18:00 a game down to 15:43 last year. Sometimes it's just best for both player and team to part ways, I think we may have reached that point with Kyrou and the Blues. The relationship there has been strained going back to the 2022-23 season when Chief threw him and Thomas under the bus publicly in a bone headed decision. I had thought his 24-25 season was really excellent and his best overall play of his career but this past season has brought up those old doubts. Not sure what his value is at this point.

This past season brought up doubts for everyone not named Holloway or Snuggerud.ratonmono2 wrote: ↑11 May 2026 04:11 am Kyrou can't be happy with his ice time going from 18:00 a game down to 15:43 last year. I am eager to hear Alex Steen’s first official comment on Kyrou’s situation. I don’t think I have
heard anything yet.
We don’t have a player in the organization more different in attitude.

You’ll be waiting a while. Whether Steen loves him or hates him, he’s not going to paint himself into a corner by making that view public.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑11 May 2026 06:07 am I am eager to hear Alex Steen’s first official comment on Kyrou’s situation. I don’t think I kane heard anything yet.

They are stuck with a third line winger with no compete who is
without admitting the failure he has become.
And taking the loss that entails.

Based on production since he got his clock cleaned a year and half ago, I don't think $8.125 mil x 4 is viewed as reasonable.son_of_foolsgold wrote: ↑10 May 2026 11:49 am Furthermore Kyrou is signed to a reasonable contract for the next 4 seasons, which enhances his value even more.
It's more than Pavel Buchnevich. Dylan Holloway at $7.75 mil x 4 is a reasonable deal.
If the Blues get lowballed on offers for Kyrou they can always wait until the next trade deadline.

And thank you again Dylan for assisting with that.ratonmono2 wrote: ↑11 May 2026 04:11 am Kyrou can't be happy with his ice time going from 18:00 a game down to 15:43 last year. Interesting indeed! (Although I have limited feel for what/how NJ would think about it.)Frank Underwood wrote: ↑10 May 2026 20:56 pmbillybaseball wrote: ↑10 May 2026 20:49 pm Devils- Jordan Kyrou and Col 1st
San Jose- Nemec, New Jersey 1st and Det 1st
Blues- 2nd OA
San Jose gets the RHD they need but with 155 NHL games played already.
That’s a pretty interesting proposal! I need to think about it more, but pretty creative. I have a feeling that New Jersey might want more, though.

Not just Kyrou. A GM should keep their cards close to the vest about any player.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑11 May 2026 06:15 amand that is. the horrific situation Kyrou has put this Organization into.netboy65 wrote: ↑11 May 2026 06:10 amYou’ll be waiting a while. Re: Rumored price for Kyrou
I dont consider Zetterlund just a journeyman since he’s capable of 20 goals a year, is only 26, and would add physicality to the middle 6, and ya gotta throw in the obligatory ‘he’s swedish - Steen something something.’ I do admit I dont think Kyrou’s value is as high as some on here think, so I agree Id be sellin low on him somewhat. I also forgot the pick would be the last of the 1st round. So you have successfully wrecked my trade proposal and in hindsight, I suck. The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑10 May 2026 15:23 pmWhy would you want to trade Kyrou for a journeyman winger and the last pic in the first round? Kyrou to the Sens for Fabian Zetterlund and a 1st, Id be all over that if possible. May be too much of an ask tho. Gots to get more toughness somehow tho

Re: Rumored price for Kyrou
Kyrou was streaky every year of his career. The other years though he was their best winger offensively and there wasn't a better RW option to score so the Blues did everything they could to get him going. Now they have Snuggy and Holloway taking some of those opportunities away and the team isn't forced into moving Kyrou everywhere to get him scoring.TBone wrote: ↑11 May 2026 06:45 amBased on production since he got his clock cleaned a year and half ago, I don't think $8.125 mil x 4 is viewed as reasonable.son_of_foolsgold wrote: ↑10 May 2026 11:49 am Furthermore Kyrou is signed to a reasonable contract for the next 4 seasons, which enhances his value even more.

They also didn't have a legit 2C to elevate Kyrou's game and lack the enforcer type player to protect a player like Kyrou. Especially after the trade deadline he couldn't have looked more disengaged. I know he had a knee issue but if it was something bad he wouldn't have played after they were eliminated. He will have value for some teams. Analytically his play is good, his two way play has improved, they need to have a strong 2 way centre for him to play with and he needs to go to a team that has players that can stand up to the Logan Stanleys.

Re: Rumored price for Kyrou
Honestly, I’m at the point where I don’t really care if Kyrou stays or goes. If he wants to score 30 goals and actually help the Blues win games consistently, fantastic, what a concept. But personally, I’d rather spend time watching the young kids develop than doing the annual “Is This Finally the Year Kyrou Figures It Out?” discussion for the 47th time.
At the end of the day, it’s up to Steen and Montgomery to decide what the future looks like with him. The good news? The new generation is coming. And honestly, that’s a lot more exciting than another season of Kyrou’s effort level after every bad turnover.

Which Blues player has scored 149 goals past five season? That's horrific? Who else is close?
I'm fine with moving him for the right return, but blaming him unilaterally for a contract he and management agreed to and whatever that italics means is irrational.

I completely agree. Kyrou needs protection and the Blues don't have any players who fit that bill.Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑11 May 2026 09:37 amKyrou was streaky every year of his career. This upcoming draft has multiple players who could fill that role. But would it be in time to help Kyrou? Not sure. I hope the Blues use their bounty of draft picks on players in the mold of what they want this team to be in 2-3 years. They could pivot in any direction they wish. Exciting times!
