If we can't get #14 for Kyrou, you make it happen. We have good prospects, but we can get more NHL-certainty by drafting in the first round. If you draft high enough in the first round, you cut down that time in the AHL. Kyrou is trending down. I would be okay with his scoring drop, but his moody play on the ice and high turnover rate are too much. He's a good player, but the word is out on him. I don't think he has more value than that, and he's not going to bring back more than that.
Why would you want to replace Kyrou's 25-26 production? We were 24th in the NHL in goals with 230, down from last year at 13th with 250. If you're going to replace Kyrou, you better replace him with someone who has had 70 points in the last 2 years, not a guy who hasn't played in years with a career high of 20. We need scoring.
Dube has never scored 20 goals in a season, and he turns 28 this summer. Is he worth a min contract? Maybe.

Remarkable to me that folks take one season — a small data sample — and extrapolate the worst. It's always the worst. Never mind Kyrou's three previous seasons of growth while playing in all-start game. Is one season an anomaly or is it the first tilt of the iceberg? IDK. Ask me in a year, but equating Dube and Kyrou is just wow.

Kyrou with his contract and his normal production isn't something any smart gm trades away.

But with how he is being misused and wasted. Trading him should be a summer priority.

While value is probably a little less then before last year. He still holds good value. Especially for teams that don't attract free agents, so easy.
If we go futures. Be 2027 futures. And he is a 2 first rd/blue chip kinda asset.

But in losing him. We lose a top six goal scorer, and we should add on to him, if needed. so to get one of the same(but younger) coming back.

He wonders if there is a match for Kyrou for the Columbus first round pick at 14.

It would be good for the Blues, Kyrou and Columbus.

I have been thinking about this question and IF it is legit then I would take the deal. Here is the why of this, right now we have a situation where a player for whatever reason is struggling to make the contribution that making 8 million demands of him. We have a fan base that has had it with him. That is a bad situation for anyone to be in short term and long term. Maybe a change in scenery helps him and his career. Would I like more for him, yes but his play doesn't demand that kind of payment. For what he is and the amount of money he makes this is fair compensation. So if the offer is legitimately on the table, I would take it.
Well put...+1

Wrong-Columbus is a great city. You really have become an obtuse tool.

Keep scoring points with the deplorables.

I’ve not been and I don’t have a dog in this race, but I imagine a college town that supports one of the nation’s biggest universities and is the state capital is a fairly nice place to visit.

It's a nice little midwestern town. But you have to live in Ohio.

Also, why is Kyrou waiving his NTC to go to Ohio? "I'm tired of Missouri, I'm upgrading to Ohio" -things no one has ever said

It is a great place to raise a family. Lived here since 1970, full-time. Ohio State football, MLS (before St. Louis), NHL, plenty of college ports, AAA baseball, MLB within a two-hour drive north or south, a great zoo, plenty of parks, art museum goo restaurants, but you just keep on keepin' on.
