Not saying the leash might be getting shorter but there must be a reason they're trying to work him through this.

He has not shown he is a better option lol
You know more than the braintrust does. Lol
and I’ll bet as soon as they send him down you will agree that was the right time to send him down lol because they will he won’t figure it out he will continue to be awful
The guy was terrific last season in 39 games.

You just don't toss that away 6 weeks into the season.

No reason to be impatient unless some delusional folks here have suddenly forgotten what this season was supposed to be about just because they've played over their heads for 40 games.

If the team had championship expectations then maybe you have a shorter leash otherwise no reason at this point to send him down.

If last sesson was a fluke you won't find out by sending him to Memphis.
Okay so go on record how many games should they lose going to him? He’s going to give up at least 1 run every game how many games should they toss away letting him give up runs?let me guess as soon as they finally get around to figuring out he sucks and send him down that is the precise moment you agree he should be sent down
Do you ever make any sense?

I thought this year was about a "rebuild" to see what the young players can do? Isn't that what you all said this offseason? What changed?

You dont throw in towell on a guy in 6 weeks who was probably the bright spot of the pen last year besides Leahy and Romero.
1. rebuild doesnt mean we purposefully lose when we are in a playoff spot
2. sending a guy to minors doesnt mean throwing in the towel on them.
3. svanson isnt getting any better- i dont think this is good for him to get rocked this badly and lose confidence. just from an individual perspective id think itd be better for svanson

Well you might as well dismiss Bruihl and Stanek too.

What's the rationale for keeping them here and sending Svanson down?

Maybe he does go to Memphis at some point. Who you going to call up?

Im not fanboy of any player but maybe they've decided at least for the time being that trying to get him straightened out here with the ML coaches is better than at Memphis.

Did the home run in the eighth affect the Cardinal ninth. Two runs down instead of one?

Without any inside info or direct contact with him I confess to not knowing the best course of action.
Prior to last night I actually thought he was starting to show signs of turning it around?
I didn’t check the 40 man this morning to analyze the options.
Please....no Roycroft!

Pitch selection is at the heart of his issue right now.
His slider usage is way down from last year and his cutter usage is way up.
Hitters are sitting on the cutter and sinker, eliminating the breaking pitch.
Makes it a lot easier to hit.

Oli's stupid insistence that he stay up here has been a disaster.

Marmol noted that frequently shuffling young players between St. Louis and Memphis can disrupt their development. He argued that Svanson needed to work through his mechanical "funk" against Major League hitters to truly regain his 2025 form
. --MLB.com

This kid has been lost from Day 1.

He's now given up runs in FIVE (5) of his last SIX (6) outings!

Last night was a stupid situation to bring him into, turning a tough one (1) run deficit against M. Miller into an almost impossible two (2) runs vs the best closer in MLB. ::crazya::

SEND HIM TO MEMPHIS before he helps lose yet another game! :x

So all of this isnt about a runway for players but rather wins and losses.

Let's send down anyone not performing to this point.

Bruihl, Stanek, Scott, Saggese, etc.

You still have to field a roster and with the amount of money they are willing to spend you're going to have holes.

Im not saying at some point you send him down but unless expectations are for winning a championship you give a little more rope.

His performance last year deserves it.

Svanson is basically this year's version of Fernandez.

How long did it take before Mo finally decided enough was enough last season and took him away from Oli?

And they're right about one thing, in that the shuffle definitely affected RyFer's development, although I don't know how much of that is due to injuries.
