Third baseman hitting 5th, on pace for 90+ RBI (most productive 3B in MLB in RBI pace), bats LH, and is playing defense which according to the metrics is at Gold Glove level.
Weird that many of the "best fans in baseball" fail to grasp those are good things.
Yes, it would be a good thing if he struck out 5 fewer times in every 100 PA's - but he is doing EXACTLY what his role requires.

Gorman will get a full chance this season. He may strikeout 175 times and still hit 20 - 25 Hrs and drive in 85. Time will tell but thank goodness he is playing a steady 3rd base defensively.

And that’s a great idea about the same people in the Cardinals organization who worked with Walker working with Gorman. They’ve probably never thought of or tried that.

It really is as simple at that. When he keeps his front side in and head on ball usually good results happen. I can’t believe they let him through the system hitting like that. Last season he was noticeably closed with his stance. Had no power. I guess they let him go back to open and hope he gets into enough and they go out……

You might have had a point during the first part of the HR binge her went on the first couple of weeks ), 3 of 4 were fastballs. After, 3 of 4 (and his last two), were not.

Maybe everyone - since Gorman leads the team in sacrifice fly balls this season.....
Walker struck out less than Gorman in the minors and hit for a better average. That hasn’t changed.
Gorman is driving in runs and playing good D so I won’t complain.
Walker was destined to be a star while guys like Gorman, Burleson and Winn have enough tools to be really good role players.
Walker and Wetherholt are the real superstars of the future and faces of this team. Maybe Hererra too if he can stay healthy. McGreevy might also be the real deal.

Well it helps that he has had more PAs than anyone else in situations like that, too.

Currently it is not strikeouts that are separating the two 29% to 28%
