Linstein, Juricek they have the cap space and need veterans. that would leave 11 & 15 and what's left of the prospects after SJ at #2 to move up (rangers at #5) for a center Malhotra.
Now that would be a legacy last move for Army. Just a thought and a pipe dream.
Army is indicating they can move into the top five

Re: Army is indicating they can move into the top five
A team willing to trade out of the top-5 is likely interested in NHL players not lower picks. Toronto, SJ. Rangers? They probably want top-5 pick. Chicago? Don't know that I'd trade with them. Vancouver might bite on multiple #1s but I doubt it.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:32 pmYes, I’m well aware of the historical draft pick value charts and yes, the value of those 2 picks together would be around or a bit higher than the value of 1 pick around the 4-5 range…but you need a team in that range to actually want to make such a move. My point would be that historically, there’s near zero precedence for a team being willing to move down that much.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:03 pmhe says that the sheet they have (we have posted one thats probably somewhat similar) has their calculations that the team can move up into the top 5. I believe those 2 get you as far as 3-4-5 it might just be 4-5. But it's not far from 3. He said it's still dependent on what they are interested in drafting. But he does think the top 4 picks are more fluid than previous years because there aren't consensus top picks.
One reason for that is it’s simply quite rare for a team to have 2 picks in the 11-15ish range. But beyond that, if you expand it to the ~ 11th pick and another asset around the same value as the 15th (and even another asset on top of that if you want), there’s still basically zero examples of a team being willing to drop down that much.
Toronto may want now players, more than one. They might want the 11-pick to draft a center or RD for development. Blues are getting short on now players without tapping the top-line. Would Toronto still be interested in the Blues veterans?

Actually in reality that is exactly what almost always actually happens in trades.bluetunehead wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:53 pmQuantity won't get you quality.EKFMGA wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:45 pm With a team like SJ that has 42M in cap space why not offer Kyrou, And Buch, Col 1st and anyone down on the farm not named Carbo, Stenberg. That trade is just not the right quantity for them to make the move.

I would think the Blues would be interested in young "now" players more than better picks to be honest.DawgDad wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:58 pmA team willing to trade out of the top-5 is likely interested in NHL players not lower picks. That depends obviously on what you can actually get. I don’t think you move into the top two I do think you could get I think you could get four or five considering that the Canucks need a defenseman and they’re more than likely gonna take one at threeHarry S Deals wrote: ↑06 May 2026 11:44 am101 interview just now Army stated that based on the value of #11 + #15 they feel like they could move into the Top 5. My assumption is that means perhaps 2-5. You may be able to listen to the interview later on 101 Espns website.
Would you take, Stenberg, Malhotra, etc? Not sure what team would be interested maybe SJ? Would it be a larger package, i found that comment interesting

Why does anybody care about getting both brothers? I mean, ok, get a great player and if Ivar is truly that, then good, but the notion that anyone should give a (bleep) about having both brothers perplexes me. IMO it would be more of a distraction than anything else.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:06 pmI gotta think the chance to have both brothers is going to be worth it to the Blues. Someone online mentioned SJs need for D, Mailloux? Parayko, Lindstein id entertain those packagesFrank Underwood wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:02 pm Stenberg would be the most likely target, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was targeting Chase Reid.

The 11+15 looks like it slots into being of equal value to 4th. If that's the case, I'd rather have last year's 4th pick. Solving the C depth is a bigger issue than adding a winger or even another RD which is important as well.

Agree 2,112 percent, especially at 6.5 cap hit.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:41 pm There's simply no way I'm trading Parayko in any package for a draft pick.
We already have to sign a RHD why make it that much harder by needing to sign potentially 2?
That makes no sense is anyway shape or form.
Move Parayko and Mailloux (I guess) is 1 RHD, with
XXXXX as 2RHD and
YYYYY as 3RHD?

Glad someone said this. I would love to move up but trading Parayko to do so doesn't make a lot of sense.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑06 May 2026 12:41 pm There's simply no way I'm trading Parayko in any package for a draft pick.

They played on the same team ans have really good chemistry. Vs the Stenbergs who haven’t been on the same team in like 6 years.

He did say based on the Blues sheet and he had no idea what the other teams thought.
