If Rudolph is still on the board at 9 we need to find a way to move up 2 spots. I don't see him making it to 11.

This...and absolutely this if you are talking about one whom falls outside of the Top 10 picks.

My guess on the first 8 picks(not in a specific order): Stenberg, McKenna, Reid, Carels, Malhorta, Verhoeff,Smits, Rudolph.
That's likely going to leave the 9-10-11 spots considering Bjorck, Lawrence, Belchetz, and a few others. My preference would be to pick Belchetz or Rudolph which means we need to jump to the 9 spot to likely guarantee one of them.

That likely requires the Blues sacrificing the #15 in the process (or maybe swapping it for the other team’s 2nd). Worth it?LGB73 wrote: ↑06 May 2026 08:47 am My guess on the first 8 picks(not in a specific order): Stenberg, McKenna, Reid, Carels, Malhorta, Verhoeff,Smits, Rudolph.

I’m not saying he is but I am saying just totally disregarding someone based solely on size is a mistake.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑05 May 2026 21:24 pmRyan Lin is not Cale MakarNE Blues Fan wrote: ↑05 May 2026 20:53 pm Lin is 5'11". Same height as Makar. There are loads of NHL defenseman that are shorter.

#11 Belchetz
#15 Lin
#31 Chrenko
According to dailyfaceoff.
But I'd like Rudolph at #11, #15 Klepov, and #31 Chrenko, who according to this website, will be available for the Blues

I agree with Belchetz, the behemoth LW, at #11. No way he lasts until 15. He was early on a top five pick.
Then Klepov at 15
And the behemoth C, Ryan Roobroeck, at # 31.
We have lots of young D coming up. No D in the first.

We'll draft two players who might be replacement level bodies in 3 to 4 seasons lol. Enjoy folks

The idea that the only good players are at the very top of the draft is pretty stupid and gets disproven every year. It’s your business if you want to pay attention to the draft or not but there’s no reason to create a fantasy about it.MizTruBlueLuvzU wrote: ↑06 May 2026 09:50 am We'll draft two players who might be replacement level bodies in 3 to 4 seasons lol. Agreed. Centers and RDs always get valued a little higher than wingers.noted wrote: ↑05 May 2026 21:27 pmI don’t see Lawrence or Rudolph falling to 11. There are not 10 players better than either in draft.Ventomiglia wrote: ↑05 May 2026 20:34 pm 11th pick Lawrence-C-and Rudolph -RD-One will fall to us.
15th pick Belechtz-LW- and Lin-RD are there.
31st pick one of the Ruck brothers.
The concern I have is I have a pretty solid top-10 I like so hopefully another team or two drafting before the Blues sees it differently and takes one or more of the players I have later.
I currently have it:
1. McKenna
2. Stenberg
3. Reid
4. Carels
5. Malhotra
6. Bjorck
7. Verhoeff
8. Lawrence
9. Smits
10. Rudolph
11. Cullen
12. Gustafsson
13. Hermansson
14. Novotny
15. Hemming
16. Belchetz
17. Shilov
Those would be the guys I’d be targeting at 11 and 15. Or in that general range if the Blues were to move up or down a couple spots.
Of my top-10, I’d say the only ones I’d expect have much of a chance of still being available at 11 would be Bjorck, Lawrence, Smits or Rudolph.
The Blues should get 2 good young players and have a slight chance of getting a true difference maker at 11 but as usual, the truly elite players will go in the top-3 or so.

Malhotra's father is the head coach of Vancouver's AHL team - that has to matter.
There's also speculation that San Jose needs to draft defense before they turn into Toronto or Edmonton...
I think the Hawks take Reid if Stenberg doesn't fall to them.

Here's a quick 2 second google of some top players in the league drafted at 10th or lower in no particular orderThe Average Gatsby wrote: ↑06 May 2026 09:54 amThe idea that the only good players are at the very top of the draft is pretty stupid and gets disproven every year. Kucherov 58th
pastrnak 25th
Rantanen 10th
kaprizov 135th
Robertson 39th
Suzuki 13th
Caufield 15th
Connor 17th
Anyone who says you can't find talent in the draft is either a troll or an absolute dingus. Yes, it gets exponentially harder outside of the first round. But those are some of the best 20-25 players in hockey. Tired argument by tired trolls.

My guess is SJ takes Reid at 2. There’s an above zero chance Reid ends up the best player in this draft and they could really use him more-so than Stenberg or Malhotra.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑06 May 2026 10:05 am Malhotra's father is the head coach of Vancouver's AHL team - that has to matter.

Perhaps the Malhotra relationship makes them lean that way at 3rd overall but I guess we’ll see. Personally, I see a pretty clearly top-3 of McKenna, Stenberg and Reid (I just don’t see Malhota’s offensive game popping enough to be in that group longterm) but many are clearly very high on Malhotra so I guess we’ll see!
