These guys will be fine. Players need to be man-tough and that doesn't mean being a goon or an enforcer, just tough enough to absorb punishment and dish some out when appropriate. Holloway's first injury was likely a fluke, he's shown a willingness to stand up in scrums.

What the team does NOT need is BT style buffoonery antics. Emulate Carolina: be tough, be physical, but beat them up on the scoreboard. Blues are headed in that direction, work-in-progress.
Dude Carolina traded for Nicolas Deslauriers this year because for years they were considered soft

These "team toughness no goon" takes around here always make me laugh

To create toughness you have to add tough guys

This Blues team absolutely needs to add some Beef, especially after trading Schenn
Thank you! He played ZERO minutes Saturday (not dressed) and has played 3:09 in ONE game this playoffs.Yeah, that was game 4 vs BT.

I stand by my assertion the more important focus is on skilled players taking care of themselves and their linemates while playing hockey. Big and slow isn't going to get it done. Neither is Kyrou without help.
I mean being physical/mean and making the other teams uncomfortable is great but the idea that it offers any protection or anything like that is nonsense. We need hockey players but sure I agree that big tough and mean is a bonus.
It's not nonsense.

Certainly won't be when and if they make the playoffs.

Im not talking 1980s type of player with 300 penalty minutes.

Good Lord.
In the playoffs they especially like going on the power player because you retaliate. There is not "protection"
It's been part of the game forever, especially the playoffs.

Where have you been?

Does it matter when you only draft offense?

At least the "actual" ones will. I think we all know the ones that won't!

There's a lot of reasons to love this signing. One of the good examples I heard was about how the "pecking" order still stays in tact as well. Hollywood taking a contract underneath Thomas value protects the roster integrity. With the explosion of these cap numbers, it takes a self aware camp to be able to not try and squeeze out every dollar possible. 101 (I never give them credit) brought up a good point today. Because of this contract, it lays a foundation for a possible snuggy contract to get done after july1. And it basically says you 3 are 1 line. We have kyrou, buch, neighbours, dvorsky, we need to go figure out our other 2. And right now If my math is correct. The Blues still have about 15.5m to sign essentially 2 more forwards and 1 defender. They also don't need that drouin contract but probably really hard to get that off the books. If they add stenberg to day 1 berg or carbs, the forward group is already signed. Only need 1 more defender in that RHD. There are a ton of options for this team to go for this offseason.

Totally agree! I'm excited to see what Steen is able to do this summer. Maybe Lady Luck will be on our side tonight and we're the team that finally gets lucky in the Draft Lottery! One can dream right?
