2 or all 3 of these guys get a day off.
Scott
JJ
Winn
I’d consider VS2 not playing a well deserved benching.
this

put church in cf and fermin in left

NO issue giving any banged up player a day off today before the Brewers come into town.

Given not many would've bet we'd take the first two games from the Dodgers this time Oli is truly "playing w/house money".

Anyone a bit achy gets today off.

Guessing Gorman sits for Urias. And maybe Scott for Fermin.

Let’s look at it from a players perspective. Don’t hurt that bad. They wanna play. This is the Dodgers. This is a new Cardinal way, old school. Finish the kill.

Player wants to play and isn't sore, then usually they'll play.

You brought up team chemistry earlier. This team and players don’t strike me as upset if they don’t start, but rather happy and rooting for their replacement to do well.

^^^ this. Most of the starters have been in the bench role before, so they know the importance of keeping the backups engaged. Great team chemistry.

Herrera
Burly
Walker
Winn
Church
Urias
Pages
Fermin
Yes, Herrera caught last night, so with the day game today, Pages will start at C. Nothing to do with "getaway".
I think Urias will start at third base with the lefty on the mound, Gorman will sit, maybe PH in a critical spot late vs RH reliever. Nothing to do with "getaway". But, I think Urias will bat after Winn in the lineup, Church after Urias.

Just checked MLB gameday, and the lineup is shown as:

Wetherholt 2B
Herrera DH
Walker RF
Burleson 1B
Winn SS
Fermin LF
Church CF
Pages C
Urias 3B

Pages has 6 AB vs Wrobleski, and has hit 2 HR off him.

May will be making his first start vs the Dodgers. He has faced Ohtani, Tucker, and Freeman before, but when they were with other teams, and in very few AB.

This is the guy I don't understand. Hopefully he proves me wrong today. and why flip flop Walker and Burleson?
