Get away game- part two.

Post by sikeston bulldog2 »

Good morning.

After we lead the pirates 2-0, 3,0 in the series, I thought we might do a get away. Didn’t happen. We swept the series.

Now LAD. Six game winning streak. One game from first. 2-0 series lead. What do we do.

Role players are role players. That role ain’t starting. It’s pinch running and defense. If you get an at bat, lucky you. No starts.

Then the road. At Oakland- first place. At KC last place. Then home to Pitt and Cincinnati.

Keep the fire burning. Let it keep us warm. The team keeps on turning, let them turn you on.

Today, I would say that no doubt players get a day off.

2 or all 3 of these guys get a day off.

If someone needs rest, rest them I say. Only Oli and the player know. Also role players do need some playing time. We’ve won the series. I’m thinking about the more important Brewer’s series. That said, I hate the massive sub day Oli does where the whole bench plays. That’s not necessary.

I say no. The players want this sweep. They’re hungry. I bet he plays it hard.

I’d consider VS2 not playing a well deserved benching.

Why do 23 year olds get so tired sitting on the bench half the game and standing at their position the other half. They might actually run a couple minutes a game.

I have totally forgotten what it feels like to be 23. I get your point. If they don’t need it don’t rest them. That’s sort of what I meant by Oli and player making case by case decision. I don’t like resting just based on some kind of schedule Oli sticks to regardless of need.

The cardio respiratory endurance enhancement has to be zero meters.

It's not always a physical rest. Some times a player, especially if slumping, might need a mental day off, but like another post stated, you need to keep the bench players involved, with the feeling of contribution. Gotta keep that energy and excitement flowing through every player on the roster.

I’ll agree with getting some bench players some at bats.
I don’t agree with doing it all on the same day.
I don’t agree with the mental day off either. I worked on nuclear actors with less stress than Ball players deal with.

See if this lineup changes.

I have to add. VS2 should be benched indefinitely to get over his mental stress. Normally player celebrations do not bother me. But, after VS2 hit that home run and did his little shuffle dance around 3rd, I was done with him. It’s a good way to get a starting player hit by a pitch.

Very tough lefty going for Dodgers. Weapon for later in the game. It's smart. This isn't a getaway lineup.

Yes. Wrobreski? Is strong. Like 4-0, 1.50 era.also attempting to stop a streak. Great test for the team.
