Team Chemistry- Noot and Torres

Post by sikeston bulldog2 »

Good morning.

Oli would be a fool to change anything. Let it ride. I feel that chemistry is the final ingredient in the team building model. It’s so very hard to get every human on the same sheet at the same moment. We are there.

Stl is so tight in that clubhouse that you couldn’t bust a fart thru there. Tight. Tight as a goat horn. In fact, the chemistry is so intense, you can hear it crackling. Like thunder.

Noot and Torres.

I’d never mess with chemistry, unless it’s Torres. He is the image and model of an ingredient that will easily insert. He’s earned it. He’s young. Fits it. I’d move him up.i think the chemistry would absorb him.

Noot. Older. Been out of the net. A stranger in town. What could he bring that Torres wouldn’t? I truly don’t see what many of you see in him. I think he creates an elephant in the room effect.

Couple sayings apply here- let sleeping dogs lie, or if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Chemistry.

I don’t disagree necessarily but I don’t know what to do with Noot. Is he 4th OF? Also when he comes in doesn’t someone have to go down or out? Is that Fermin, Sag or Pozo?

Noot will split time with Church and Scott when he returns. Hopefully he looks good enough to garner interest from potential trade partners. Pozo could be the player to be sent down when Noot is activated. Trouble is, with Herrera being the DH when he is not catching, Pages could not be subbed out without then losing the DH, with no other catcher available.
So Saggese would likely be the one going to Memphis - he needs regular playing time anyway.

That’s the entire point. What to do with Noot. My feelings is he missed this train. No way I’d insert him ahead of Church. Then Scott.

And the players see a player doing the shuffle bag drag. It just kills the vibe.

Yea, because getting rid of VS2 batting sub .180 would destroy team chemistry.

Or VS2 to work on his hitting. They sent Gorman down before. They sent Walker down twice.

I think he’s a core guy. He’s been around three years now. Sending him down is an environmental downer.

I agree missing his offense wouldn’t hurt. I just think they are hitting on eight cylinders and any more, minus Torres, Can only be worse.

They are hitting on 7 cylinders with VS2. Winning makes team chemistry and winning more with better players makes better chemistry. You don’t think those players sit on the bench when VS2 is up there knowing it’s the end of the ending?

I don't think there's any doubt about that. I'm just not sure they move him if he plays well. Probably depends on if they continue to win. If he doesn't play well, they continue to win, and Baez can get his k's down, i guess they could bring him up. But that would be the boldest move I see.

I’m thinking the players also feel his issues. And when he fails, they may with drawl a bit to avoid the mood. This creates a barrier of sorts.

As for his presence. It’s a bigger positive than his performance offensively.

Why is a garbage player a bigger positive than his performance? The fact is, you don’t know. And it’s stupid to claim a worse player should be playing over a better player because it makes the rest of the team happy. Doesn’t make any sense. You can’t explain it.
