I'm glad you brought up Stan Musial, Dal Maxvill, and Tim McCarver. I saw Musial play in person late in 1963, his last season. The next sason the Cardinals won their first pennant in 18 seasons. During the 1960's, my school years, the Cardinals won THREE pennants and TWO World Series with Maxvill and McCarver. I had TWO signature bats growing up, a Dal Maxvill model and a Tim McCarver model. I think outside of one playoff either Pronger or MacInnis were hurt. I don't remember having them both healthy for the playoffs.
