Roycroft has only a general idea of where the ball is going when it leaves his hand.
Disappointing, but it's not like it's a major decision in this year of experiments!
100%

I'm not sure why the slug Roycroft is yet again on the team, guy's a stiff.

I'd even take Graceffo over him.
I believe they want Graceffo pitching regularly and with multi-inning stints.
They are not quite ready to give up on him as a starter and therefore do not want to consign him to short relief just yet.
When he comes back to STL, his assignment will probably be long relief in the middle innings.
And I get that.

But to be honest I don't see him ever being a SP here, he could've gotten those "multi-inning stints" here instead of Roycrap.

Fernandez has fallen apart.
No idea on Raquet or Bruihl?
Roycroft must have photos of someone in the FO?
Raquel is a 30 year old who has all of 2 innings pitched at the major league level. In 2 years at AAA he had an ERA of
5.57, with a WHIP of 1.576. Bruihl is a 28 year old who last season had an ERA of 5.27 and WHIP of 1.902 with Toronto.
Should be a fluid season roster-wise.
If Roycroft survives the season it’ll be disappointing.
That’s the problem. They are treating the 40 man as concrete not fluid. We could dfa Roycroft today and no one would claim him. Yet for some reason they are scare to “lose anyone “.
I hear ya!
I’m just trying to go with the flow as the season should see a lot players moving in and out.
So I take this as just a starting point.
Now...I don’t root against anyone so I’m pulling for Roycroft or anyone else to prove me wrong.
Not sure why they are hanging on to certain players but if they have a short leash I get it.

Video of Gastelum’s killer breaking ball. Reminds me of Bruce Sutter’s forkball.

From before the season. I'm awaiting the hue and cry.
