They've got some bottom teams the next few to continue the win streak. Games vs teams in the race to beat: Jets x2, Sharks x2, Kings, and Mammoth. Some control, and an even split between tough matchups and easy matchups. One at a time is right. Ya never know.

Just finished watching the replay of last night's game.
That's a lot more fun than tanking.
Hofer was unbelievable.

I think they'll need about 24-25 more pts to get in out of 32 remaining. Looking at a .75 points percentage from here on out. Gotta play like #1. Would say wins are the most important thing, so a goal of 12 wins to finish would be something to achieve and maybe enough.
12pts available from the worst in the league. 10 more against teams ahead of us in the race. The rest from top teams out of reach, Avs x2, Wild, and Pens.

Serious peer and pier reviewed synopsis indicates that whenever The Blues hit rock bottom halfway through and claw their way back to the playoffs they will slurp beverages from the Stanley Cup, Bring it on!

They are effectively further behind. These teams ahead of them have games in hand. That is never good

Re: Blues four points out of a wildcard with 16 games left
I pointed it out last week, but to kinda reiterate the WC2 spot or the "Face the Avalanche" spot was being held by a team that was full deer in headlights to all the teams behind them. The Kraken full on caved under the pressure. Utah is also starting to fold as well which is ideal for anyone hunting the wildcard spots, as they've now gone on a bit of a losing streak where they've leaked points. That spot probably is going to be about 93-94 points, so i don't think the blues have any shot of getting that one, but it would be nice.
The blues have to take it a game at a time, but this road trip has to go pretty well. I'd say 5 points is about the minimum you can reasonably walk away with unless you plan on beating the Avalanche at least once when the back to back happens. Speaking of which, the Jets just played Colorado this afternoon, so we'll have a chance to play against a team playing a back to back while we got an extra 14-15 hours of recoup time.
The other note i'll make is this is a rare time where one conference is so bad that you could see one or two of those teams also slide into the WC position or out of the playoffs. They are all playing mediocre, and all about 5-7 points ahead of the Kings who hold the WC2 spot. Now, i don't think all three of them fall out of the race, but it is definitely possible that one of the three only gets 13-14 points down their last 14-16 games. I'd wager Edmonton's offensive firepower is enough to win them some games when their defense is mediocre, but Anaheim to me just doesn't have that same capability, i think they might fall even though they have the most cushion.
I'm hopeful the blues either finish at 91 points or lose 4 or 5 in a row coming up. Top 5-6 gets you another really solid player, playoff gives you a chance to go on a run.

We don't need another draft to see how a successful team is built:TheJackBurton wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:54 pmYou can be tired of listening to it but the reason it continually gets brought up (just like the Cards in 2011) is because for 30 games now we have been seeing people hoping and wishing for losses because of a draft pick.Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:36 pmIm so tired of hearing this 2019 comment. This is obviously a different team. Glad to see them playing well but leave 2019 in 2019.NE Blues Fan wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:29 pm Anyone else remember 2019 when people kept posting about being better off losing down the stretch when the Blues were pretty far out of a playoff spot. You would think some people would rather of had a top 5 pick over a Stanley Cup parade.
If Army had done that at the 2019 TDL then we don't get that parade. To give up on a season before even half of it is played because of some mythical high draft pick becoming a top 5 player in the league has been worn out. They are winning and quite frankly it is upsetting fans which blows my mind.
Just like in 2009, these games matter in teaching young kids how to win in the NHL which is massively important and many don't think it matters. I'd much rather teach young kids how to win in this league than teaching them to lose for a better draft pick.
Colorado, Carolina, Dallas, Edmonton and Buffalo each have 2 TOP5 picks on their roster.
There is NOT 1 GOOD TEAM that has zero TOP5 picks, including the Blues.
Some think that another year, a 21st year, of drafting at #15 is the key to success. They don't seem to notice that 20 years of that approach has not worked.

The Blues have cap space and potential trade capital. There is no need to tank.

San Jose won tonight so back to 6 points and 2 games less player than us. I am old like Aesa and dime others and we’ll always have 2019 but we just need a playoff streak to have a choice. How many top 5 players in the draft did we have in 2019?
Let’s just get in more often, and I think Thomas will be a key so Steen and DA better not get any ideas unless we trade for McDavid or a player of his caliber.
Get in have a chance for the Cup. Simple as that.
It will be tough so let’s enjoy each win and hope there are man
Utah is losing with 9 min left. They are also non play it appears but we need to not just win but be dominant if we are to make a legitimate run

We are winning the cup this year. Hottest team since the break at 6-1.

I disagree, but could be wrong, that the last wc will be 93-94 points.JoshInFenton wrote: ↑14 Mar 2026 18:41 pm ... anyone hunting the wildcard spots .... That spot probably is going to be about 93-94 points, so i don't think the blues have any shot of getting that one, but it would be nice.
If the Blues win every last one of their remaining 16 games, they'd be at 96 points. Also, tiebreaker territory.
My heart *wants* them to win, but I don't see this group winning the last 18 straight games of the regular season (incl. prior 2 games). League history suggests otherwise.
Gosh, even an astonishing 16-2 finish only nets 92 points. Without looking it up, how many teams made the playoffs since 2010 with less that 95 points? I don't know, but probably very few.

It's possible they could sneak in with 88 or 89. Not probable, but possible, as they play some teams ahead of them. What if it came down to the last game vs Utah?UseLogic wrote: ↑14 Mar 2026 22:49 pmI disagree, but could be wrong, that the last wc will be 93-94 points.JoshInFenton wrote: ↑14 Mar 2026 18:41 pm ... anyone hunting the wildcard spots .... Let's say the Blues continue their .75 pts% pace, and the Mammoth (just as hot the last 5) cool to a .500 pace. It's the last game of the season and we're sitting on 87pts and them 89 with only one game to play against each other, and we have the tiebreaker. By this time we might already be positioned in WC2 if we beat the Sharks, Kings, and Ducks to get there.
