Blues four points out of a wildcard with 16 games left
That's 32 points on the table. I know other teams have games in hands on us, but we are beating some good teams and Blues momentum in picking up steam like last year. Of the teams in front of us competing for the wildcard, we have two left with both San Jose and Winnipeg, and one against Utah and LA.

I got em 5 pts behind LA. I don't think they make it. There's too many teams between the Blues and the spot. They aren't all gonna have epic losing streaks. I don't see the Blues winning 12 out of 16.
Here's to picking 14th...cheers!

lol, it’s déjà vu all over again!
Hey Pop, why do the Blues always finish in the middle of the pack?
Well, Son, because they always draft there….

The boys still need help. But if you were 2 games back with 5 to go, you would think you have a “shot”. The Cardinals saw this same thing in 2011. They needed absolute score watching help.
I broke it down a few games ago. The blues need 3 cycles to 100 percent get in. 5-1 5-1 5-1.
Right now they are 2-0 on the first 5-1. They got help from the kraken that makes that original algo wrong. Thy have 2 with San Jose and 1 with the kings. You would have to imagine all 3 of those have to be won. They had the same thing happen last year with the kings and they beat them in the back to back.

I’d love a top 5 draft pick too but if the alternative is playing meaningful games late into the season and potentially making the playoffs, I’ll take the meaningful games every (bleep) time.SweeneyAstray wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:19 pm lol, it’s déjà vu all over again!

Anyone else remember 2019 when people kept posting about being better off losing down the stretch when the Blues were pretty far out of a playoff spot. You would think some people would rather of had a top 5 pick over a Stanley Cup parade.

If not for covid, we would have had #2 in 2020.

It’s not even Stanley cup parade this year. We are the 4th youngest team in the league. This team feeling urgency to play for wins and figuring out how to do it Is a big deal. For context, we snuck in last year, but we were 12th youngest team. We have gotten younger but somehow expected better results.NE Blues Fan wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:29 pm Anyone else remember 2019 when people kept posting about being better off losing down the stretch when the Blues were pretty far out of a playoff spot. Anyways. Meaningful games matter for guys who are developing skill. We aren’t the maple leafs or the jets who are 1st and 4th oldest. They need to tank. We just need to ride that ole screaming eagle and hope it doesn’t toss us off the rails.

Im so tired of hearing this 2019 comment. This is obviously a different team. Glad to see them playing well but leave 2019 in 2019.NE Blues Fan wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:29 pm Anyone else remember 2019 when people kept posting about being better off losing down the stretch when the Blues were pretty far out of a playoff spot. You obviously don't understand the suffering and disappointment some of us experienced for over 50 years waiting for the first cup.Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:36 pmIm so tired of hearing this 2019 comment. No we will not forget or stop talking about 2019. It was and will remain a magical year for us.
Don't like it? Too freakin' bad, don't read it.

You can be tired of listening to it but the reason it continually gets brought up (just like the Cards in 2011) is because for 30 games now we have been seeing people hoping and wishing for losses because of a draft pick.Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:36 pmIm so tired of hearing this 2019 comment. If Army had done that at the 2019 TDL then we don't get that parade. To give up on a season before even half of it is played because of some mythical high draft pick becoming a top 5 player in the league has been worn out. They are winning and quite frankly it is upsetting fans which blows my mind.
Just like in 2009, these games matter in teaching young kids how to win in the NHL which is massively important and many don't think it matters. I'd much rather teach young kids how to win in this league than teaching them to lose for a better draft pick.

If you are a Blues fan, why would you want to leave 2019 in the past. Wouldn't you want to celebrate the championship? Isn't that the whole point?Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:36 pmIm so tired of hearing this 2019 comment. This is obviously a different team. I agree. I'm not really saying I expect this team to go on a cup run, but I can't get on board with being frustrated with winning. I love seeing the young guys have success. I'm so excited to see how far Mailoux has come this year, how Hofer is taking over the net, and how Snuggerud is already making such an impact on games. Enjoy the ride instead of hoping they perform poorly.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026 22:33 pmIt’s not even Stanley cup parade this year. We are the 4th youngest team in the league. Re: Blues four points out of a wildcard with 16 games left
It's more than just winning. It's seeing the team come together and play exciting hockey against good teams. It's watching young players grow into effective NHL players at a young age, and knowing more help is on the way. The Blues were two seconds away from being in the final eight teams last year. I wish I understood why the Blues haven't woken up the last two years until after the break, but they can be a good team.
