No homeruns, and they aren't going to average 6 runs a game. LOL It is nice to see them cut down on strikeouts but as I read the names I couldn't help but think that most won't break with the team. I guess we'll see though.
I knew people that were saying it was significant they lost the first game even though the pitchers that gave up the runs won’t be on the team on opening day would dismiss the win if they won today lol so funny I totally called it yesterday
Funny how people take a post out of context and try to rewrite it. I put the line from game one and said that will probably happen frequently with this team. All of you immediately jump on it like it's some kind of rare gotcha. LOL Whitey Herzog said he knew one thing going into a season, they were going to win 60 games and lose 60 games it the 42 in the middle that would decide the season. They will win 60 but they will lose a lot more than 60 most likely.
Hey...opinions vary which is the reason for the forum.
Serious question:
Exactly WHY do you post here?
And don’t say it’s to “talk baseball” because you don’t.
How long have you been a Cardinal fan? I've been a fan for over 50 years.
Why do you post here? Is it just to insult others with differing opinions?
Go ahead and show me a post where I wasn't talking baseball. Because of forum rules you basically have to or get banned.
Again, what's the purpose of your post? Is it just to attack another poster? That's sad.

We are in the middle of a rebuild, of course we will lose more than 60. I don’t understand how so many fans still can’t accept this. The hope is there isn’t a lockout next season, and the stockpiling of prospects allows us to have another decade of sustained success.
As I've said over and over, you don't have to be a loser to rebuild. Every (drat) MLB team rebuilds to some extent every year. Not spending the money to make this team competitive is a con game. You all just can't seem to get that through your heads.
Whats the con? I see an organization that is looking at a lock out, and what ever the ramifications are for that. I think they have insider industry news we don’t have.

Your refer to all teams rebuild yearly. That is correct. They all make adjustments, through addition and subtraction. You are correct.

I think we got in deeper than a yearly reset. This the organization chose another route.

Both may work, both may fail. But I like the fact that they have a seemed direction, and I like a little risk.

It's not a risk man. They're going to lose this year if they don't spend some money on top talent. The problem is they've now waited too long and most of the talent has already been scooped up. But they will save some money. Good for DeWitt, he needed a few extra bucks before the lockout.

I don’t believe it’s about saving the owner money. Going as low as they have indicates a business move.

Lower the payroll and keeping the cash is much too obvious.

As for risk. Putting all eggs into a heavy power arm young pitching staff, and loading up on middle infielders, is risky as for competition.

I think they have insider next saturation of for us will be outfielders.

“Yeah but no home runs!”

Doosh
You think they'll average 6 runs a game doosh? Keep licking those boots.
Nah, you're just a doosh. Writing an OP after the first game how the team didn't score and we should "get used to it." Then they scored 6 in the second game, and you're like, "Yeah, but no home runs."

It's pathetic.
6 runs off of guys that'll be bagging groceries in a month. What's pathetic is the bootlickers that are perfectly fine with ownership going cheap for no good reason except to save money. Lick on.
Im not licking boots at all, nor am I making any judgements based on the first two spring training games like a doosh.

Keep plugging that confirmation bias…

Been a fan longer than you!
You have every right to your opinion(s)!
You have every right to be pessimistic or down on the team if that is your true feeling.
What I don’t understand.....if you are MISERABLE on a DAILY basis what purpose does it serve to tell total strangers about it as nauseum??
We all are passionate about sports BUT it is also meant as a hobby/entertainment.
If a hobby of mine made me miserable I’d pick a different hobby!
As for “talking baseball” you offer almost nothing in the manner in which the team can improve.

It's pretty consistent that I've posted over and over that they needed to sign talent instead of gut payroll. I don't know what you're reading but apparently there's not much retention or understanding. As for MISERABLE...well...get back to me on that when the team is 20 -30 games out and looking at another MISERABLE season upcoming. But I'm different I guess in that I don't enjoy ownership gutting payroll and planning to fail. Maybe you enjoy that sort of thing. You might think about that.

What’s hilarious is if the cardinals had lost he would have sworn it means something but if they win it means nothing. If the cards were 0-3 he would be belly aching and complaining saying this is a sign of things to come doom and gloom cards are 2-1 and he says it means nothing lol so whatever sounds better for him to whine and complain is how he views spring training games

It's certainly not funny, it's a derisive laugh. On the bright side, they won again today even though they were outhit and hand no homeruns again. Things will get better for sure.

Who knows what their thinking is. They did get a lot of hard throwers but who knows if any will pan out. For some reason they feel that gutting the payroll was the move to make. It sure seems like cheapness to me.

No homeruns, and they aren't going to average 6 runs a game. LOL It is nice to see them cut down on strikeouts but as I read the names I couldn't help but think that most won't break with the team. I guess we'll see though.

What’s hilarious is if the cardinals had lost he would have sworn it means something but if they win it means nothing. If the cards were 0-3 he would be belly aching and complaining saying this is a sign of things to come doom and gloom cards are 2-1 and he says it means nothing lol so whatever sounds better for him to whine and complain is how he views spring training games
Hey Oz what other poster does he remind you of?
Could they be the same person?(Sock Accounts?)
I notice they don’t post on the same days.
If they are two separate posters they need to get together and give each other couples massages!

I think there could actually be multiple cry babies lol what’s even more funny is they thought the cardinals were actially contenders the last three seasons and are crying because bloom broke up the great mo dynasty that was poised for multiple World Series runs this offseason that’s what I find absolutely hilarious

There are.
Which is one reason why I don’t post a lot on the Game Threads during the season.
Lots of great posters but it only takes a couple of these whining clowns to ruin it.
So I just enjoy watching the games and post afterwards.
