I know this has been debated a bunch from a safety standpoint, but who are they to tell her she can't go? her time trials had her at 3rd fastest qualifying. It would be really weird to tell a competitor they can't compete in the most prestigious competition for their sport, unless there was precedent. I don't think telling someone who isn't 100 percent is ethical. They earn the spot, they get their choice.bud white wrote: ↑09 Feb 2026 11:55 amNo different than any other alpha competitor. Always rumored to be a terrible person, but sometimes you gotta be a B to keep going I guess.
Congrats on an impressive career.

I know why she went through with it, but personally I feel the USOC should have jumped in after the accident and told her she couldn't go. It should have gone to a younger skier who wasn't injured. Vonn can easily retire on her endorsements.
