Especially with all the investment around and including the stadium. STL will be home for the duration Rock. Unless, like I mentioned earlier, they get approval for the 'Disney " park in East St. Louis to break ground. Then Bill may pack it in.
MLB would NEVER, EVER approve one of their CROWN JEWEL FRANCHISES w/more baseball history, championships and tradition than any team in MLB not named the NY Yankees!
(And St. Louis blew it back in the early 1960's zuck' when Walt Disney himself wanted to turn the river front where the Arch was bring built into his next theme park and August Busch used his muscle to deny him because Walt didn't want beer sold in the proposed park)

I had heard that this was actually a reality back in the day. I was making more of a reference to a certain poster here who thinks that East St. Louis is currently ripe for that type of project. I just find it entertaining that someone thinks that could be pulled off in this area currently. I won't go into details, but you are smart enough to get my drift Rock. But back to the 60's, just think of what STL might have been? We would have never lost 2 football teams and we would definitely have an NBA team as well. Can you imagine, the growth and viability of the Metro area, if Walt and Gussie could have came to an agreement. For me, it is mind boggling to think of all the changes it would have created.
Moving the Cards to another city seems unlikely. However, my gut and ownership's actions feels like the team will be sold. And in reality, I care far more about the players than the owners. I have zero loyalty to them. And I do not understand the Donovan trade at all in terms of a rebuild. The other trades made perfect sense if they wish to sell the team.

Gotcha and yes I understand.
Here's what could've been if ABJr had been told to "shut up":
Walt Disney planned to build a massive, five-story indoor theme park called Riverfront Square on the St. Louis riverfront near the Gateway Arch in the early 1960s. The project, featuring attractions like a haunted house and a riverboat ride, was abandoned in 1965 due to financing disputes and conflicts over selling alcohol. --Disney
and of course the wild rumor about Illinois erecting a gigantic statue of a man holding a croquet mallet about to hit a huge ball towards the arch................

How do any of the moves the Cardinals made this fall make any sense? I could believe it on the premise that we were trying to rebuild until we traded away one of our rebuilding pieces. The Donovan trade made no sense whatsoever. You've got a guy that's under 2 years of control that is ian all star and you trade him away when you're wanting to be rebuilding? It appears to me that the management is looking to tank on purpose. Why would they want to do that? It has always been said the Cardinals would not be moved as long as they were selling lots of tickets. And they historically have. But when the ticket sales fall the MLB is not going to be hesitant it to move them. And ticket sales are as low as I can remember in my life. This team is infinitely more valuable to be sold if it can be moved. There are a lot of bigger towns that could use baseball teams. Austin Texas is a million people and they're underrepresented. Nashville / Louisville / Chattanooga area is grossly underrepresented. MLB would love to get teams in these much higher population areas. The best way to do it would be to buy a team that's already established and move it in there. It looks to me like the dewits are tanking the Cardinals in an effort to be able to move them. If ticket sales are low enough the MLB will approve it. St Louis has 280,000 people now. Austin has a million Chattanooga Louisville Nashville area has almost 3 million people. Memphis is a much bigger town. Folks get used to the idea of the Cardinals not being here- it's probably coming. The DeWitts have no ties to the St Louis area at all. Other than a baseball team they own is inconveniently located here. They just came out a couple of weeks ago and professed undying love for the Cardinals. That doesn't mean St louis. That just means the Cardinals. Look at the Cubs - that stadium is always full no matter how good or bad they are. Why would you invest in players and player development if you're going to fill the stadium based on the population of your area regardless of winning or losing. Is much cheaper to fill the stadium in a huge metropolitan area than it is a small one.
Made zero sense to keep Donovan.
Yeah, screw the fans.
You’re not a fan, so you won’t get screwed. I’d practice getting a life instead of worrying about the accomplishments of others. You’re so pathetic.

lol.
MLB will never ever allow the Cardinals to be moved. It’s ridiculous. It’s a gold mine market.

Do you understand how different those 3 situations were from the St. Louis Cardinals of today? IF not you are dumber than a bag of hammers.

Intelligent comparison.
Teams moving from NY to an unoccupied California market , and then to top it off you use the Oakland A's as another example?
Its either intentional ignorance, or just addictive trolling. Out of respect for you, I'm going to call it trolling.

Not really….Dodgers and and Giants saw great opportunity in new and growing markets..
With Stl deteriorating as a large national market, the Cards…particularly with a new owner …might see great opportunities in much larger and growing markets such as Nashville or Charlotte..
Stl fans like to console themselves with this crown jewel silliness……but those days are long gone…now it’s just another deteriorating mid western city…
Consider how much change we have seen in baseball the last 30 years……nothing is off the table or should surprise anyone..

I know you would love to see St. Louis without a major league baseball team, but your wishes are not going to come to fruition.

Are you sure they have a mlb team now?
Nevertheless, I urge you to review the growth and business dynamics of Stl vs Charlotte or Nashville
Just a couple of highlights……
N C is the third fastest growing state in the country …missouri is not in the top 10
Charlotte has 19 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in Charlotte
Stl has 8
Charlotte offers more potential fans, more televisions, and more potential corporate sponsors…
Now…..you have composed a grammatically correct sentence…suggesting you are a bright guy…
So…..if you are looking to invest billions in a business, where are you going to invest?
I am well aware of Charlotte's growth and potential as a MLB city. I have kin in NC and I spend some time in the Carolinas every year. They will most likely get a team the next time the league expands, but it won't be the St. Louis Cardinals. Same goes for Nashville. There are many, many reasons for this, and I expect you know some of those, but you obviously have an agenda opposed to St. Louis. I believe you are at least my age (70) and someday there may not be a MLB team in St. Louis, but it won't be in our lifetime. Of course that is unless there is no MLB at all.
As recently as 2022, the Cardinals had over 3.3 million attendance, only the Dodgers had more. In 24 and 25 the crowds have been reduced as the team has been a major disappointment in many ways. This trend will likely continue for a while, but there will be a revival, and the crowds will return.
