These numbers are getting crazier and crazier. In what world is Valdez worth 38.3 million per year? 8O

Skubal is smiling
If arbitor picks Tigers $19M over Skubal’s $32M he won’t be smiling
As the back yo back Cy Young winner Woolf be in ssme clubhouse getting $19M when Framber gets $38M .

Highly doubt in that scenario he will be smiling .
David Price got $19.7 years earlier. He will get more than $19.

He's making bank regardless of this determination. FA in 2027. Skenes in 2030

I look at this as the Tigers going for it while they still have Skubal.

Well this should just about cement the impending Skubal trade to the Dodgers/Mets/Yankees (outside shot Phillies, Red Sox, Cubs, Jays, O's).

Can't imagine Skubal takes much joy in them giving Valdez 38M a year while the Tigers are dicking around with a 13M dollar arbitration difference. Some of these organizations can't get out of their own way.

I look at this as the Tigers procuring Skubal's replacement before they move him. (Especially if he wins his arb case)

Why is it sad? Funny CT thinks teams pay too much but the Cardinals pay too little.
Sad because Pittsburg use to be a fun baseball city. You remember the Pirate teams of the 70s. A lot of fun.

Unfortunately, Pitt won't be able to afford Skenes. A lot of this blame goes to the Pirate fans. It doesn't matter how good the Steelers are, they pack the house. But Pirate fans won't show up unless the team is winning (sound familiar?). A lot to do with having only 8 home game to go to, compared to 81.
Steelers have been to the playoffs many times and won a few championships in the time since the Pirates last won the series. Heck, I'm 36 years old and I can count on one hand how many times the Pirates have even been to the playoffs since I was born. You're comparing apples and space shuttles.

In that same time, we've been to the playoffs a lot more, won a lot more pennants and championships, and our attendance whittled down by a LOT. So don't go blaming Pirates fans.

Hard to say anyone is worth millions of dollars but he's a good pitcher. Now Detroit is serious. At least two top tier pitchers. Anyone going into a series against them knows they have their hands full.
