Season Ticket Renewals
Re: Season Ticket Renewals
The Panthers significantly increased season tickets next year too. Like 60% increase and this is after a few big increases in years past. Several I know are not renewing. Tons were talking about it last night.
Similar bad timing as the Blues renewal notice.
These teams and their billionaire owners just never stop trying to bleed the fanbase.

Re: Season Ticket Renewals
Interesting timing to ask for the Order. And the Marketing Department may want to review the pricing decision.
Who knows, maybe they figure with the baseball and soccer teams not being the most exciting draw, there is less chance of losing market share for discretionary sports entertainment? (I wouldn't count on it.)
Maybe they'll keep share percentage, but revenue may not go up even with a price increase.

“Perrenial playoff contender” is code words for “Kyrou is our star”. If the Blues DONT bring NHL draft excitement and acquire elite talent for the first time in 20 years. ..tell them to go to Saskatoon.

Without raising the prices of the primary revenue stream how do you expect the Blues to be able to spend to the rising cap?MiamiLaw wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 07:57 am The Panthers significantly increased season tickets next year too. Man
In July I was pretty close to buying some sort of mini plan (13 games or so) but then we decided to do a landscaping project and convert our fireplace to gas, etc. so I decided to hold off.
Best thing that ever happened

I have no clue how much the team makes from season ticket holders but I’d guess it’s a very small part of the revenue in general. I assume sponsorship and tv deals are a far larger part.Walter Sobchak00 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:22 amWithout raising the prices of the primary revenue stream how do you expect the Blues to be able to spend to the rising cap?MiamiLaw wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 07:57 am The Panthers significantly increased season tickets next year too. It’s not just the Blues or just hockey. It’s a sports wide issue and society at large. These teams and businesses used to be a part of the community. They were a boost to the local community in many ways - players and owners alike. Now it’s all about the bottom line and how much the next hot shot can skyrocket contract expectations or the owners can build their tax funded billion dollar stadium. That then gets passed on to us and a family of four upper bowl to an NHL game in Feb sets you back $200 or more. Don’t even start with the NFL.
It’s just sad seeing the acceleration of late stage capitalism in general lately. I guess I know I’m old when I’m pining for “the good old days”.

Thr price of everything goes up nonstop. Every vendor we patronize is trying to bleed as much from the consumer as possible. And we all go along with it as they nickel and dime us. I'm as guilty as anybody. There will eventually be a breaking point.
Re: Season Ticket Renewals
For sure. We all have our part in it but there will absolutely be a time when the market can no longer bear the constant gouging from all angles.Jeff Goldblum wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 09:07 am Thr price of everything goes up nonstop. For the four of us to get to Miami area its going to be like $2000 give or take
Not to mention, with that beautiful low price, the flight times are absolute dog [shirt]. There's about 2 direct flights out of 20, the other 18 connect somewhere and total travel time is like 6 to 8 hours minimum.
How in 2026, in the freakin USA are most of my options to fly from STL to Miami take 6 - 8 hours? Its unreal

Ticket sales are the primary revenue driver for the NHL, accounting for approximately 44% of the league's total revenue.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:55 amI have no clue how much the team makes from season ticket holders but I’d guess it’s a very small part of the revenue in general. Without raising ticket prices they aren't a cap team

In fairness to them….the cap is going up and the Blues normally spend close to the cap. They are losing their television partnership with Fanduel and that will be a huge loss revenue wise. Gotta make up that money somewhere.-Blueski- wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 07:51 amAsking again for season ticket renewals. Annnnnnndddd...... the price is going up once again. I believe the NHL specifically has a high dependency on butts in seats, so the season ticket push is likely more important for them than other sports.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:55 amI have no clue how much the team makes from season ticket holders but I’d guess it’s a very small part of the revenue in general. Anecdotally, it was roughly $370 dollars to get into a weekend game for my wife, 2 kids, and I in December without parking/food/etc vs. the Rangers. We chose to ride the Metrolink because it is ~$40 to park near the Enterprise Center now. Took my son to MonsterJam a few weeks ago, $160 bucks for two people for tickets direct from Ticketmaster, $40 dollars to park so even that was $200 dollars.
As mentioned by another poster, many folks are just living on credit and there will be a breaking point where it just is no longer feasible.

Not that I like it, but as long as enough people are buying tickets, NHL has no motivation to lower prices on anything.
Re: Season Ticket Renewals
Also with the cap rising so quickly, mid market teams are going to feel that pressure really quickly. Jumping up from 87 million to 113 million over three seasons is LOT of tickets or a lot of increase in average cost.blues2112 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 10:14 amAnd NHL is doing that!Kilokaai wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 10:03 am I believe the NHL specifically has a high dependency on butts in seats, so the season ticket push is likely more important for them than other sports.

Projected Salary Cap Figures (Upper Limit)
2025-26: $95.5 Million (+$7.5M from 2024-25)
2026-27: $104 Million (+$8.5M)
2027-28: $113.5 Million (+$9.5M)
Quick Math:
Based on last years, cap (since that is why they announced the cap schedule):
87 million * .43 = 37.4 million from tickets
113.5 million * .43 = 48.8 million from tickets
26.7% increase in ticket prices needed to break even if everything else stays the same.
Average Ticket Price:
2024-2025: $49.50
...
2027-2028: $64.68
Assumption: 41 home games a year (no playoffs) at full 18,400 capacity.
Edit: Just to add that is an extra $60 bucks per game for a family of 4 on top of the cost from last year.
