how about lower ticket and beer prices to draw butts into the seats? make a deal/pledge to the fans.
Great suggestion. It would be a good and smart gesture to pass on some of the savings from all the payroll reductions.
Instead of asking fans to pay a premium price for an inferior product, they could invite them back to the park at an affordable family-friendly price under the premise they are building something great for the future and they want the fans to be a part of it at the ground level.
That’s an easier sell and a better PR move for the team. Maybe they could better justify being cheap for a couple of years while they build a new young core if they let the fans off cheap for a while too.
It would be good to include fan trust as part of the rebuild efforts too.
Tell your boss to lower costs and gain more clients. Not a bright business model.
Tell your boss to lower quality and charge more. Not too bright either.
Are you saying having an occasional sale never serves to stimulate business?
As a business owner, I don’t want cheap poor people as clients.
If I cut my prices in half, I would have to double my customers. Which means more overhead. So no, you’re wrong.
Baseball games are cheap. It’s cheaper than going to a movie. If you can’t afford it, stay home I don’t want you.

What if you already reduced your overhead by over 200% because your business model was [shirt] and failed and you had to scratch it and start all over again, and meanwhile, you (upset) all your customers because of a severe drop in product quality and they stopped coming and buying altogether?
Also, most cheap people are not poor. Quite the opposite, and they understand value and will pay nothing and do without before they overpay for anything.

I’m going to go party in Las Vegas tomorrow and pick up a new Porsche 911 while I’m there. What are you going to do tomorrow?
What a fun strategy to divest of any and all contracts over $5M so we can put all our hope on the Draft Lottery and then demand taxpayer money to install more luxury boxes.

Bean-Counter Baseball, FTW!
Why is our Regional Sports Network failing?

They did download. Now I expect an evaluation season, lockout, then a new period of better baseball.

Time to put some $ into a 2026 bat (Andujar?). At the very least could likely flip him at the deadline.
Very well could be the time?
I was holding off commenting until seeing whether Donovan was dealt or not.
There is clearly room now to add an “Andujar Type” player and STILL give PT to those that need it.
He will definitely bring in a veteran right handed bat. Andjuar could be it and probably another veteran starter.
Agree on the bat.
Not sure about adding a vet starter?
Rotation spots for sure:
Libby
McGreevy
May
Then???
Does Leahy get a look?
Fitts?
Dobbins?
Does Mathews factor in early?
Guess we’re about to find out?
He might not bring in another veteran but he said was looking to add another veteran starter after may and he’s done everything he said he’s going to do so far so I think he will add the bat and another veteran starter who is less risky than may
If they want to compete at all they need the bat that’s for (bleep) sure.
