I’ve researched and posted this previously. Since 2006 MLB National TV contract has 3x, Stl local TV has 2x, and Gameday prices have doubled. The 2006 team had a 89mil payroll. In MLB inflation terms a 180mil payroll is the progression.rockondlouie wrote: ↑20 Jan 2026 12:05 pmSureCardinals4Life wrote: ↑20 Jan 2026 11:54 amCan someone explain to me why it is 2026 and we have a lower payroll than 2011?Goldfan wrote: ↑20 Jan 2026 11:06 am N.Y. Philadelphia Phillies $172,976,381
Boston Red Sox $161,407,476
L.A. Angels $138,998,524
Chicago White Sox $129,285,539

Minnesota Twins $112,737,000
Detroit Tigers $105,705,232
St. Louis Cardinals $105,433,572
Can someone explain how the Cards won the WS with the Yankees doubling their payroll that season?? And Philly 70% higher….and Red Sox 60% higher???
In today's dollars C4L that would equate to a 2026 payroll of approx. $151,000,000+.
Now there are issues with the local TV, but I anticipate MLB pooling most of that pot and it’s up to BDW to get his attendance back up over 3mil
