Re: Terrible announcing tonight
I find myself yelling at joey and kerbs more than at underperforming players. Tells you how bad everyone is all the way around.
Ps- how many times has joey made it known that he knows crosby? Who cares joey. Do your job.

So did Vitale, a few times and not justified either imo .JR1 wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026 22:58 pmThanks for pointing that out. I thought I was the only one who noticed it. I didn’t like the way he dogged Dvorsky tonight.mph6689new wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026 22:53 pm It is rough at times.
I get agitated how Kerber covers for some players and calls out others. When Schenn makes a mistake or turnover, Kerber won’t even say his name. “The Blues turn over the puck”. It happens consistently if you listen for it.
Also, I laughed when Kerber called out the refs for not paying attention on a night where he yells the Blues scored off a post, calls Walker Kyrou, thinks the Blues are on the PP, etc.
And I like Kerber ok, although this year has been tough. Maybe he was better in small doses on radio, when you couldn’t see some of his mistakes.
Re: Terrible announcing tonight
I was eating out with friends last month and the game was on a big screen, tied 1-1. When I hit the car he never mentioned the score. I was pretty sure it was still 1-1 and heading toward OT, but it was piszing me off so I started counting his "time remaining" resets and it got to SIX before he finally reset the score. And then he only did it because they took a commercial break and he mentioned it coming back. I would guess it was around 15 minutes without mentioning the GD score! lolmph6689new wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026 22:53 pm And I like Kerber ok, although this year has been tough. Come on man, mentioning the score is Broadcasting 101. Your top priority. I don't dislike the guy either, but he's got a lot to work on.

My guess is that he doesn’t work hard enough. Or he needs new glasses. What a downgrade we got this year in the booth. And if it wasn’t for cash savings, then why? Maybe we can trade cash and Kerber to LA for Kelly.TBone wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 08:13 amI was eating out with friends last month and the game was on a big screen, tied 1-1. You know it’s bad when you start thinking how great Bernie was when he did color. And that’s not a knock on Bernie. I think he’s the best they got at FanDuel.
Re: Terrible announcing tonight
I watched and heard that play too. Mistakes happen...but to stay with it, both of them?! I'm pretty sure most of us know whom the Blues players are just by their style of skating, size, etc. Although #28 & #29 look like twins and it's tough to see the second number!zuck698 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 01:18 am On one play tonight in the offensive zone, Kyrou was on the ice with 18. Kyrou made a nice play on net, Kerber says its Snuggy. Joey agrees and says Snuggy's name out loud. 21 is comfortably sitting on the bench this whole time. Kyrou get the puck again on the same shift, and Kerb's doubles down with calling him Snuggy again. I was like did 25 and 21 switch uniforms and I was the last to know? It is just endless with these two. I would says it is pathetic, but that would be rude to the word pathetic. The Blues are playing bad enough, but this adding insult to injury.
I mainly value announcers to help me identify opponents' players, not to confuse the (bleep) out of me.
Re: Terrible announcing tonight
So many nails were hit in this thread.
I'll just got one more.
At the end when they tried blaming the loss on a bad Drsky pass and Snuggs for the high stick pp goal that put Utah 2 goals ahead.
These guys are trolls

Re: Terrible announcing tonight
Our second goal actually interrupted a Vitale monologue. Kerber had to rudely interrupt Vitale to announce the goal. Kerber needs to stick to play by play and Vitale should not speak unless the whistle has blown and play has stopped. That's what the color guy does. Lets the play by play guy rest his pipes when there is no plays to call. Pang used to be the worst. Vitale has taken the crown. Both wanted more air time than the play by play announcer.

Is this the same shift where Joe said Sunggerud is really coming on?zuck698 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 01:18 am On one play tonight in the offensive zone, Kyrou was on the ice with 18. Re: Terrible announcing tonight
The last 2 losses Vitale commented during the 3rd period how the team really seems to be heating up.

Re: Terrible announcing tonight
Unfortunately, I feel this way for every game. I really hope these guys don't get some sort of complex, it's not their fault for the most part. They just shouldn't have recieved the offer.
Re: Terrible announcing tonight
Yes it was. The whole time Snuggs is sitting on the bench.mph6689new wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 11:06 amIs this the same shift where Joe said Sunggerud is really coming on?zuck698 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 01:18 am On one play tonight in the offensive zone, Kyrou was on the ice with 18. Re: Terrible announcing tonight
Hit the nail on the head…Kerber’s lack of skill was always masked by him being on the radio. Now that he’s moved to TV also, everyone can see how bad he is. The question is will he do what it takes to improve or will he coast knowing the Blues can’t do anything different now. Kerber is like Director of Broadcasts or something so no doubt he’s the one who decided and he’s the one making the decisions.zuck698 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 13:04 pm…They are both unprepared and poor at what they are paid to do. And neither the players, nor the announcers, seem like they will do whatever it takes to become better. Both aspects are losing propositions. If they were close to being decent at their jobs, the JK thing might not sting so much, regardless of how dirty I think he was treated by the powers that be.mph6689new wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 11:06 amIs this the same shift where Joe said Sunggerud is really coming on?zuck698 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 01:18 am On one play tonight in the offensive zone, Kyrou was on the ice with 18. You are correct, if the drop off to Kerber and Vitale wasn’t so much, it wouldn’t have stung so much. But it’s pretty bad and if he’s running the show, who’s going to fire him?
Re: Terrible announcing tonight
What's funny is in some games- maybe just home games with local staff managing the feeds- the camera will zoom on the guy who is going to the box but ALSO sometimes it's the guy that made the horrible play that lead to a goal against. Of course the Mensa Twins don't say anything but if you are watching (they aren't) you get it.
