I thought Detroit might be a good trade partner for Faulk and Kyrou.

"he's been scratched"
Umm, so has virtually every player at some point
"boo'ed by fans"
Fans booed a player? No way! What would Adam Oates say?
"openly put on the trade block"
Says whom? When?
"If its not toxic its certainly not great"
What is your antecedent of "it"?

I'm not even gonna go any further its so silly. Obviously there are/have been problems with Kyrou and the Blues.blues2112 wrote: ↑27 Dec 2025 22:27 pm"he's been scratched"

Some people believed that Tarasenko was “huppy” and that the players loved him too.
They probably still do

That abysmal power play in the third period, which could have put the game out of reach, but instead surrendered a SHG, was courtesy of Kyrou. He coughed up the puck three times at their blue line in about a fifteen second span. His teammates bailed him out the first two times- but they passed it back to Kyrou, who has a tough time facing pressure near any blue line. The Preds PK took it deep into our zone after his third turnover and kept it in until they cut the lead to one goal. That’s the kind of dumb-azzed pansy hockey- especially late in a game- that kills a team’s fire… and gets coaches fired.
He will never, ever change.
His offense was negligible.
He is either permanently spooked, or just does not care about competing in extremely tough situations. He does not “play for his teammates”…. Like his teammates do,

Kyrou should never spend any time on the point in future PP’s.
Those miscues at their blue line are exactly the same mistakes that made Berube, publicly, blow his stack. Kyrou was just as weak and indecisive the last few games he played under Chief. Chief put it plainly, ‘He’s got to make a Play”. Instead, he panics and the other team is off to the races.
He would need to pot about fifty goals in a season for me to be able to watch him vanish at critical junctures in games, as he showed again last night.

It's a problem. It almost cost us the game. In general there is a problem with almost all of our point men on the power play...Offensive zone time in general whether man up or even strength. We dump and change and get on our heels for the other team's rush. And in Kyrou's case, anywhere near the boards, practically anywhere on the ice he is below average in protecting the puck. Great skater, great scorer, tougher than he gets credit for, but he is average at best for handling the puck, below average in tight situations. (I won't belabor, argue and derail on the toughness part. He does take some hard hits over the years and gets back out there and recovers quicker than expected.)Harry York 37 wrote: ↑28 Dec 2025 08:38 am Kyrou should never spend any time on the point in future PP’s.

Others on this forum have questioned why Broberg is not on the point for the PP more? He has the athleticism to make those plays, and he is better at getting back as a true D-man if there is a flub.
Why not put Thomas on the point? And have someone else on the half boards? He gets pinned in down there...maybe at the point the defenders will be tempted to be drawn out, which would open up more space in the slot.
Kyrou should only be moving back forth through the slot at various distances angles and directions to be fed and SHOOT the puck. Force the defenders to be moving, keep the goalie unstable...We are too predictable. So predictable that when we do shoot everybody in the building is shocked.
Before we give up on Kyrou, maybe let's give Marc Savard a shot as the Assistant to lead with our offensive/scoring strategies?

He absolutely sucked last night.

I could break out the Zapruder film and it wouldn’t matter. He was out almost 2 months and yet 90% of your posts were still talking about him either directly or passive-aggressively getting in a veiled shot.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑28 Dec 2025 09:31 amYou still don't watch games closely, do you?
Break down the sequence I mentioned for me. I'd love to hear your detailed explanation.
If he were a board pet player it would be ‘oh he just needs to get his legs/timing back, he hasn’t seen game action’ but since it’s Kyrou, he’s afforded no such courtesy.
Bottom line…I’m done arguing with you. If you want players that get blown out 6-1 every night but that’s ok cause they tried real hard, then have at it. I’ll continue to support Blues that can put the puck in the net.

I believe his time is coming to an end here. It’s probably best for both sides but I think we will end up regretting moving him. Purely speculation on my part but I feel like he would probably be open to a move as long as it’s the right fit for him. I also think plenty of teams are interested but only interested on their terms of the deal and not Army’s. Not sure we will get the return that I feel like we should get for a player of Kyrou’s caliber. Hate on him all you want, but be careful what you wish for.

I always felt he had more offensive potential than what he has shown in St. Louis. Maybe we just don't have the talent to surround him with. I just don't want to trade him as a guy with a ceiling of 35 goals who is at the bottom of his trade value and then he pops for 50 on his new team.

Any legit 20 goal scorer who understands playoff hockey will make me happy. If there was ever a fine argument for addition by subtraction… this is. It.
Kyrou’s “Caliber” is a very nasty double-edged sword. Most apparently, when the games get tight.
