I like that trade you listed at the top. Is he great, no, but he can hit and maybe even surge for a month or so...ecleme22 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 09:54 am Trade Arenado for Castellanos.
Maybe sign Pham to a minor league contract with a NRI.
Victor
Walker
Burleson in the mix
Church backup
Noot traded
NC in right field
JW in LF
VS in CF
If Pham makes the team, he shares some time w JW and NC, but he’s mostly a backup. Church is a def replacement and spot starter. Burleson plays here and there in the OF.

Quite frankly if your going to put a guy out there for 3 to 10 mill per just because he has some experience, knowing full well he will be a .250ish, 10 to 15 HR guy at best, at best I say. Then your better off just throwing a Church, or Koperniak out there along with Noot, Scott and Walker and calling it a day. Save some money and see what you got. See who rises to the top considering this is a rebuild year. That is a Johnny Moz list all day long. I do hope Bloom has more sense than that. If he goes after a RHH OF then it needs to be via trade for someone controllable and you know is a legit player for a few years, no questions asked. Does not have to hit 30HR's but a .285, and 20 to 25HR's works. That can be had in a Donovan, Pallante, lower minors prospect deal.
Someone please explain the need for May and RHH OF??
Certainly isn’t going to make much a difference in standings
May can eat some innings. And all vets on one year deals can be flipped at the deadline.![]()

The product on the field is going to stink. The product last year stunk. The product the year before was 71-91
I want a winning team……you seem fine and content to Wait….for players who today are not ready to win but somehow you have faith or hope that at some point in the future they will win. FAR from any guarantee….but you and those like you feel as though it is a guarantee. Wait a few years and presto talent abound at Busch stadium.
But you also want middling talent to be brought in for ‘26……to eat innings?? Why?? Pallente can eat innings….Leahy can eat innings
I filled out lineup with current players…..we really don’t need any more. Winning isn’t an objective.
What’s the objective ???
I would be more excited than butt hurt over the changes. I can live with a poor record again.

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
Exactly! The team is low on the payroll and long on wanting to see what they got. They cannot say that any more times than they have already. Some on here apparently like the Mozeliak way of building and bringing in the aged vets that don't do anything special than fill a spot. If all your going to get is .250 and 15 HR's then play the kids that have the potential to be better with experience and forget about all these supposed FA vets. The only thing Bloom should be doing is find a good trade partner for that controllable young guy that can grow with this team. Otherwise work from in house.ClassicO wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 14:24 pmKeep playing the kids. Try Herrera in LF. Baez should get a shot at some point. Try more Church. Agree with looking more often at Herrera in LF, giving Church more opps, and seeing Torres at a number of positions. I am hopeful about Baez, but don't want to have any MLB expectations of him next season. If he makes it, fine. I would like to see Baiez and Chase Davis go to Memphis and really kick the door down to the point that you just know you have to give them a look. I wouldn't bring either one of them up on a hope.ClassicO wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 14:24 pmKeep playing the kids. Try Herrera in LF. Baez should get a shot at some point. Try more Church. If a trade for more longevity can not had.
it's works.
NA for NC can stand alone.
If any of the talk about Seattle holds true.
Arroyo has some intrigue. Not a big power hitter
but 20-25 maybe
I assume Arroyo would be part of a Donovan trade? That’s cool, but we are talking about two different things.
Whatever you might flip him can be found in the
MiLB FA bin.
Arroyo or any player is part of the 26 why not use those spots for players who could be a part of a team.
I understand the desire of flipping, I see it with NC.
IMO TP is very low hanging fruit that may have zero desire to be in St Louis. There more value to just keeping Lars and seeing if he increases his value
As far as having NCon the team and possibly flipping him….every offseason on CardsTalk I have to remind CTers how freaking long the mlb season is and how many innings pitched and plate appearances are required.
Assuming they trade for Arroyo, they don’t need to clear out the outfield options in order for him to get a large chunk of PT over 162 games.
TP is a product of reporters saying he has some great desire to win.
Somehow more than others who can show discipline that TP doesn't.
There isn't any need or upside for this player on any team.
Let the 38 y/o ghost of TP go, you have far superior ideas than this one.
Instead of trading LN and signing TP keep Lars.

I watched a lot of MiLB games last year thanks to the archive element of that subscription, and Davis was a major disappointment offensively (and surprisingly good defensively). His pitch recognition and huge swing are a major problems, as he misses pitches by big margins.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 14:38 pmAgree with looking more often at Herrera in LF, giving Church more opps, and seeing Torres at a number of positions. From the outside looking in at the boxscores, it seems like his results got quite a bit better from July (or so) on. Is that accurate, or do you think that was a fluke?ClassicO wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 15:06 pmI watched a lot of MiLB games last year thanks to the archive element of that subscription, and Davis was a major disappointment offensively (and surprisingly good defensively). That 2yr contract is where it might become sticky. 2/$32, 3/$40
He scored his career year by a lot. His best by far since 2021.
2022-2024 he's a D replacement level. The point this is his payday.
What do you think it would take?

Bader is coming off his best season in years and is a FA approaching 33 years old.
There’s no doubt he’s positioning for his last ‘big’ contract, which could be over 30mil for 2-3 years.

You are laughable.
Most reports have him anywhere from 2/16 yo 3/36.
I'd go 2/16 in a heartbeat. Another tradeable piece at the deadline.
Good luck dealing Castellanos at the deadline.
You really don’t understand how this rebuild thing works. Especially with a lockout on the horizon
Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
You're right that he finished strong in a short September, but he was all over the place, as the screenshot below shows. He can't hit LHP. Not much power (10 HRs) for a guy who seems to swing for the fences every AB. He's fallen to the #26 prospect for STL and that says volumes for the former #1 pick. Last - note his troubles with older pitchers, which he'd see at the big league level.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 15:10 pmFrom the outside looking in at the boxscores, it seems like his results got quite a bit better from July (or so) on.
