Darn good chance of it. Although I’d like to see Dvo and Schenn swapped. That line of Schenn, Neighbours and Stenberg looked good the other night. And could see Fabbri if Bjug not yet 100%. Guessing he got a concussion from that elbow to the head.
Re: Who goes when we get healthy
Letting up a goal on the PK wouldn’t be such a big deal if we could score more than 1-2 goals per game. We need scorers not pk guys.DawgDad wrote: ↑19 Dec 2025 09:58 am^^^Harry York 37 wrote: ↑19 Dec 2025 09:26 amHe shouldn't be on the PP, but he is big, fearless, and no one on the team is smarter than him on the ice. Stenberg looks good and if he doesn't get sent down he will probably be on the roster next year. Berggren looks really good as well.
He is excellent on the PK and we need excellence there now as every goal allowed becomes a mountain for this team to climb.

Re: Who goes when we get healthy
For all the dislike for Joseph, has anyone looked at the stats? He has played in 30 games and is the only player with a plus. The ONLY player
I thought Bujgstad was our weak link for who we got on the off season. He became better a week or two before his injury and he’s a right handed and lanky but I don’t think he’s a difference maker so he may move along.
I would also send Stenberg back

Could be, probably is. But it's now and he's here. I would like to not be tempted to have to do another 1-year contract in his case.Bacchk29 wrote: ↑19 Dec 2025 11:50 am2 years ago nobody in the league wanted him. Too slow. He’s only valued here. I like the rolling 1-year contracts for older guys that still have some left in the tank, as long as they are not overpriced. We did the same concept with Bouwmeister. It's important that neither side gets greedy.DawgDad wrote: ↑19 Dec 2025 09:58 am^^^Harry York 37 wrote: ↑19 Dec 2025 09:26 amHe shouldn't be on the PP, but he is big, fearless, and no one on the team is smarter than him on the ice. I think the Panthers goal is a good example why the Blues move on from Sunny next year. Totally lost his man and couldn't keep up. Can't have that many slow players with how fast the game is now.

Re: Who goes when we get healthy
IF team continues to play at a high level then Army is going to have a ton of pressure to keep it going ASSUMING everyone remains healthy. Waiver exempt or not its going to extremely difficult to take Stenberg out if hes clearly playing better than almost every other Blues winger. Joseph and Fabbri are surely gone and IF totally healthy one of Torop or Bjug could be in trouble. Again the Blues are in the business of winning hockey games and building a new winning culture. They dont care about "top 5" picks if they get to that point sobeit but they wont be making moves to tank. They also dont care at all about "saving face" by overplaying Berggren. Berggren has been great in a tiny sample size lets see if he can continue this. We love Fabbri but he hasnt shown much and Joseph is routinely in and out of the line up. They will go with the best forward group they can field no matter what.
Berggren Thomas Buchnevich
Neighbours Schenn Kyrou
Holloway Dvorsky Snuggerud
Walker Suter Stenberg
Sundqvist/Bugstad/Torop
OUT:
Torop/Bjugstad

Considering the quality of hockey we've endured these last few months, it's insane to me that if they beat Tampa tomorrow there's a good chance the Blues will be in the 8th spot at the Xmas break

Re: Who goes when we get healthy
Based on contract status, i think Fabbri, Sundqvist, Joseph, and Toropchenko are the guys that end up potentially leaving the club via waivers. Stenberg as well as he has played i think probably ends up going down before some of those guys leave, but i also believe we wont get everyone back healthy while everyone healthy now remains so, it's hockey and guys take injuries all the time.
Fabbri is a solid player, but is not quite good enough defensively, and offensively is just ok, i still maintain he doesn't quite have the wheels for the NHL game though he showed well in his first couple of games. I'd just send him down and if someone wants him hey let them have him.
I'd assume we float with an extra forward for a bit before dropping anyone else down, and my guess is Stenberg would be going down because he's exempt. Playing really well, but your options for exempt players is limited, and i'm not ready to say that two games pushes him ahead of Dvo.
I'd then guess that they try to trade Toropchenko for a bit of value, Phillip Danault got a 2nd and Marchment got a 2nd and a 4th, so i feel like Toro would get you a depth pick around a 3rd-5th round.
From there i'd Keep Joseph until end of season and waive Sunny. Joseph draws penalties with his speed and is able to do the grunt work on the penalty kill and is also willing to step in there for teammates even if he isn't a fighter. I think he has thoroughly outplayed Sunny, and if we get all of our other centers healthy that'd be enough for me. Sunny just doesn't have the wheels to play the NHL game anymore, and his body just doesn't hold up over the course of the year. Love the guys heart but i'm not blind to the other parts of the game that have left him.

There's no scenario that Sunny is waived lol the Blues love him he's a mentor and a leader he's more likely to be retainedOld_Goat wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 16:11 pmThis is good assessment.JoshInFenton wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 11:45 am Based on contract status, i think Fabbri, Sundqvist, Joseph, and Toropchenko are the guys that end up potentially leaving the club via waivers. Re: Who goes when we get healthy
Yep it could be with Berggren and the influx of younger players that there is no longer a spot, that would be kinda sad maybe he sticks around in a management role, Swedish AmbassadorOld_Goat wrote: ↑22 Dec 2025 09:11 amThat's right...I was thinking not re-signing him when this contract is over.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 19:59 pmThere's no scenario that Sunny is waived lol the Blues love him he's a mentor and a leader he's more likely to be retainedOld_Goat wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 16:11 pmThis is good assessment.JoshInFenton wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 11:45 am Based on contract status, i think Fabbri, Sundqvist, Joseph, and Toropchenko are the guys that end up potentially leaving the club via waivers.
