How different would we feel about this team…

Re: How different would we feel about this team…
Being the best during the regular season has often meant nothing for the blues. Getting hot at the right time like 2019 or even last year when they blew it is their way of doing it. Id rather see them float around wildcard spots and come together then have a dominant regular season team that consistently fails like the 2010s

I wouldn't equate Berggren to Vrana by the way

I am more concerned about how we look on the ice more than points or playoff position. Something is wrong with our system, and it's been wrong since the start of the season. On offense, we are pretty predictable. We work to get the puck in the slot, but we are terrible finishing in the slot. On defense, we are careless with the puck in our d-zone. Too many no-look passes, square passes across the ice, and soft clear passes have led to many turnovers in our zone.

It’s like some people here don’t watch top teams play.hockey jedi wrote: ↑19 Dec 2025 22:46 pm I am more concerned about how we look on the ice more than points or playoff position.

You are concerned about how a team looks that has been missing over 1/3 of their starting forward group for the past 3 weeks??theograce wrote: ↑19 Dec 2025 23:05 pmIt’s like some people here don’t watch top teams play.hockey jedi wrote: ↑19 Dec 2025 22:46 pm I am more concerned about how we look on the ice more than points or playoff position.
When their goaltending stabilized (thanks to extremely good team defense) around a week into November through the end of November with a healthy lineup….the Blues went 5-2-5. That’s 5 games over .500 with just 2 OTWs out of 5.
I’ve honestly thought the Blues have looked really good in most games they’ve played in December with a bunch of journeymen and ahl guys. The worst games were 4 very bad goaltending performances. The rest was building a culture of hard work, stingy defense, and goaltending.
Once they get healthy they will start scoring and once they start scoring this team COULD take off.

The facts are the facts. When the Blues were healthy they were not very good.
I do watch a lot of hockey and it is so rwfreshing, while at the samr time being vety depressing to watch the difference between the Blues and teams like Colorado, Dallas, Winnipeg, Florida, etc.
The Blues have the fewest goals per game and the most goals against.
Not talking about total goals. Do the simple math.
Their Goals Per Game and their Goals Against per game are Dead Last. When is the last time a team was Dead Last in both categories. No wonder they have By Far the worst goal differential in the league.
And dont use injuries as an excuse. That's for losers.
Florida is missing theit 2 best players and keep winning.
Bottom line- this is such a fragile team mentally, that they simply do Not handle adversity of any kind with any composure.
As a result they have still not recovered from game 7 last Spring.
Until they remove some core pieces, nothing will change.
Who those pieces are, remains to be seen....
