My goodness, what a talent! 3rd in the NHL in points at freaking 19. Also Will Smith nearly PPG at 20. Michael Misa waiting in the wings too. Ugh…
Is McKenna as good or better than Celbrinni and Bedard?
Isn't this the important topic in this thread? Not how the team got to where they are and etc. Looking at likely a top 5 if not better pick this year, so how good are the top picks this year? I know Timmy comps Stenberg to Kane, which is a high bar, and if McKenna and the DMan who's name I can't spell will likely go before him ... who do they comp to? Who is the winner of this year's lottery looking at?
That's what matters here. Looking back is depression, looking forward is anxiety. What's right here now?
McKenna is good…I don’t believe he’s Celebrini or Bedard good. Not sure he will be good right out of the box either…might take him a year. He’s more of a playmaker in the NHL at least that’s how I see it right now. I may change my mind after the WJC’s.
If you’re willing to wait several more years…Celebrini’s little brother is on the way and some are saying he’s better than Macklin

6 months ago it was "we were 1.6 seconds from going to the second round" to 4 months ago "there's no way we should miss the playoffs and the re-whatever is over" to "trade everything and everyone and start from scratch"
Excellent work asylum.
Yes Celebrini and Will Smith are amazing players. How many years of just absolutely dreadful hockey has San Jose gone through to get them?

I read the gameday threads. You aren't sitting through those seasons.
If the team was committed to a tank (like SJ has been for the last 2 or 3 years), I think the attitude would be much different though so I think your conclusion is faulty. This team is operating as if it is trying to win a Cup, so of course people are (upset) that this year is probably lost and the Blues are not on a good track to get the high end elite players you want either.
The organization is in trouble (from a relevancy standpoint) moving forward. Any other thought/position is ignorance or denial.
An ironic comment coming from someone who seems to spend most of his waking life on this board. Irrelevant? Does that mean you are going to be irrelevant too ? What ever are you going to do ?

A fair question would be are you willing to punt this season and the next four for a guaranteed roster the likes of San Jose’s right now? I’m thinking pretty hard about that personally.
There is no reason to punt the next four. People are way overdoing the doom and gloom of this franchise. There is a good young core to build around in place already.
This season is lost, punt on this season. Take the high draft picks to add to that core. This team can be a contender for a cup next year with the correct moves.

Took 3 posts for a topic on Celebrini’s talent to morph into an Army sucks thread. Effing asylum.
And you didn’t think the original post was a trolling attempt to have it end there?
It was not a trolling attempt whatsoever. I bet on the Sharks last night and saw Celebrini had 4 points and 7 shots on goal, two nights after the huge comeback in Pittsburgh.

Celebrini hasn't won chit yet. San Jose could easily go through a 2nd rebuild before they ever win anything.
He’s freaking 19 dude. Of course he hasn’t won anything! The OP was about how awesome he already is, and how he has other great talents along for the ride. I highly doubt they “rebuild” again anytime soon with that pipeline of talent.

And what moves would those be?
Build out the defense through prospects, free agency or trade. Get the defense stabilized. It will also require some players who have numbers down from last year to rebound.
