This team is sufficiently bad that this trade is irrelevant now imo. Maybe it was the terrible trade we needed in order to draft McKenna!

He’s another one of our highly regarded picks who hasn’t developed like expected.. honestly Snuggy has been the best but he really hasn’t done much either. I think the scouting team is a poor judge of talent.
I can't make that jump to the sweeping generalization about judging talent.

To me Dvorsky's problems at ES stem from an incomplete adjustment from bigger ice surfaces. He works best with time and space, that's a European game. His other problem is MUCH more concerning; he lacks tenacity on and off the puck. That, frankly, is inexcusable.

I want DD to be successful, I wanted him to move the needle even an eensy bit. He's on a downward trajectory.
That’s my opinion on the talent pool. I honestly don’t think we have any difference makers in the pipeline but no one can see the future. Back to DD, I think you hit the nail on the head by questioning tenacity or lack of it. He gives up without a fight and is supposedly one of our top prospects.

WilliamWestcliffe wrote: 11 Dec 2025 20:59 pm Dvorskys problem right now is the same problem every scout professed throughout his draft season. Hes too slow.

It’s why his draft slot was where it was. Teams passed on him because of it.

Some here hoped his IQ and tenacity would make up for it. Maybe it eventually does but right now he’s only effective when his line-mates have been able to buy time in the ozone for him to setup (e.g. powerplay); unfortunately we’re a team incapable of sustained ozone pressure, so he’s been fairly useless.
I'm seeing that part of what makes him look slow is a lack of tenacity, a high-energy motor. He's deferrential in the o-zone, pulls up, backs away, or as a moment ago looks over his shoulder instead of aggressively playing the puck, thus getting stripped. But I do agree, he isn't a fast skater, not at all. More akin to ROR style-wise, lacking the ROR tenacity.

If the forwards aren’t collapsing down low then 4 out of our 6 defenders get completely exposed 90% of their shifts. Then when chances happen, our “starter” is the worst goaltender in the league both numbers wise and eye test.

On the flip side we can’t score enough goals if our forwards have to babysit our defenders non stop. Armstrong is an idiot

Dvorsky was our best hope for a difference maker I think. Our best hope now might be Justin Carbonneau

Almost every prime chance has gone in. He has a .750 save % this game to go with his dead last .865 save% for the season. Binnington is a major problem

He can’t even help keep our new starter fresh when we have a game tomorrow

That's not why this team struggles to score.

You blame all 6 or just 3 or 4 on him? Have you watched any of this game?

Does anyone think it’s worth it for this team to actually try for the playoffs at this point? They should be focusing on getting the highest pick possible

They are always outplayed. In every aspect. It's not the goalie!!!! It's not the goaltending!! Good Lord!

The 2 on 1 goal is the only one you can give him a “pass” but the rest were weak reads/rebounds. Did you notice Saros stopped 6-7 prime slot chances? NHL needs big saves from their goalie to win

So we are writing DD off already at 20 lol he's been playing with a revolving bunch of scrubs no chemistry no scoring wingers. I'll circle back on this next year or so
