Just think, Blues played Montreal on the road without Bolduc, Texier, Kyrou, Walker, Toropchenko, and Snuggerud, WITH Mailloux in the lineup, Binnington in goal, prissy Broberg in the lineup, and STILL won!
"Dead Horse Alert"- I believe playing without Kyrou has removed the "soft-compete" attitude from the bench and on the ice.
I called it in the middle of the first period of the game he left. It is a beautiful thing to see players leaving it all on the ice, ain't it?
Kyrou has shown he is capable of real compete, and has "heroically" displayed it for weeks at a time... every year or so. Heck- his first (and only) shift was admirable. Oh irony.

It looked like everyone was playing the same way, through all four lines. Something to keep an eye on.

Broberg isn’t prissy. He’s just soft and scared like Craig Janney.

I wasn't agreeing with you, in no way do I view Broberg as soft or scared. He plays an athletic skating style game, he battles in the corner and on the boards but he's not a banger, he can get pushed off the puck and he'll cover in front in lieu of moving guys out. I don't see him shying away or backing down from contact but I rarely see him initiating.
On the other side Mailloux is flashing some physicality and outright chippiness.

I wonder if he feels more comfortable being in a french speaking city. Just because it might be a small thing for other players doesn't mean it not a big thing for him. A random thought I had this morning.
I think that makes sense.....as well as being on a team that is more offensive in nature.
Some of us would call the way the Blues have been playing this season offensive.
