They looked at Cooley's the same way just to make sure iirc. I'm just suggesting until we know we don't really, so it could be anythingTruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑07 Dec 2025 11:48 amCouldn't agree more on the player and the frustrations he causes. At the same time, we do need his offense....period. And I'm doubting the charlie horse, since they said they needed an MRI, which implies knee to me. Hopefully just a mild strain and nothing structural.JoshInFenton wrote: ↑07 Dec 2025 10:38 am Could be long term or could be as simple as a charlie horse.
Kyrou has made strides to become a more complete player. While i remain frustrated with his extremely low hockey IQ, and his occasional lazy dumps that end up in high danger scoring chances against, i don't really hope to see us down him for an extended period of time. We need any offense we can get.
Still, i'll never not be frustrated with him i don't think. hard to see the stupid mistakes stopping if they haven't by now.

Re: Kyrou Injury
If you look at the hit, you can see that the toe of his skate catches the ice and his knee collapsed. He may have torn ACL or sprained knee, I say he will miss 7 - 10 days. If it is an ACL tear and depends how bad he is out for the season.
Re: Kyrou Injury
I noticed that too. So, hopefully it's just a bad sprain?Frank Underwood wrote: ↑07 Dec 2025 09:35 amTony Palazzolo wrote: ↑07 Dec 2025 09:28 amMonty kind of downplayed it last night. Says he's probably day to day or maybe 7 - 10 days. He said they still have to get a "good" look at it. Sometimes they present as not serious until they get an MRI.Old_Goat wrote: ↑07 Dec 2025 09:13 amThat's right. We may be justifiably frustrated, or disappointed with the player's performance/effort, but I don't like to see anybody injured, particularly if they are not of the personality to intentionally try to injure others on a regular basis. We need him. We need him to be better. But if we don't need him, then we definitely do not need his value to be diminished by potential suitors' concern about the effects of whatever injury.Aesa wrote: ↑06 Dec 2025 20:20 pmNo need to apologize, Master Jedi. That’s good to hear, at least I hope so. The one thing that makes me think it wasn’t an ACL injury is that he didn’t have his foot/skate firmly planted on the ice, and his leg moved easily when the guy hit him. But as always, who the heck knows.
Re: Kyrou Injury
It's meaningless whether he plays. A big zero.
Re: Kyrou Injury
Thinking they know what it is and would say if he's out for the year?ManitobaBlues wrote: ↑07 Dec 2025 14:21 pm If you look at the hit, you can see that the toe of his skate catches the ice and his knee collapsed. Injuries have been hard on this team so far, compounding things for the worse.

Hoping he won't miss too many games.
The Blues anemic offense juts can't afford to lose it's top goal scorer.
Fingers crossed.

Interviewed Monty pre-game last night, he said something along the lines of "We're fortunate it's not nearly as bad as we initially speculated. He's day to day so we'll see how he feels when we get back to STL.
Toropchenko's injury is the one that fascinates me. lol. What the F are you doing at home that you manage to burn your leg bad enough that you can't play hockey for more than a week? Maybe lighting a fire pit in the back yard and it got out of control for a few seconds? That's the only thing I can think of that would warrant being unable to play for this long.

Did not hear that so thanks...And I think the turkey deep fryer is a real possibility.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 11:28 amInterviewed Monty pre-game last night, he said something along the lines of "We're fortunate it's not nearly as bad as we initially speculated. Is a Russian guy really celebrating Thanksgiving by frying a turkey?
Re: Kyrou Injury
As long as there is vodka involved...which I assume there was since the Blues have been very mum about the whole thing.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 11:53 am Is a Russian guy really celebrating Thanksgiving by frying a turkey?

The team isn’t missing Kyrou, as far as I can see.
Color me unsurprised.

Re: Kyrou Injury
Didn't 13 play after Thanksgiving? My speculation, since they said scalding, was that he may have tripped or something while holding a pot of boiling water. Like he was making pasta of some type.

Re: Kyrou Injury
Ah, I didn't realize they'd released the "scalding" part of the injury, which, I guess, implies a liquid or gas/steam type of burn. Well, whether it was a fried turkey mishap or something else, I'd be shocked if alcohol wasn't involved.Army's Mom wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 11:37 amIt was Thanksgiving.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑08 Dec 2025 11:28 amInterviewed Monty pre-game last night, he said something along the lines of "We're fortunate it's not nearly as bad as we initially speculated. And if Kyrou remains out and the Blues keep winning--and scoring!--it'll definitely ignite some speculation, such as Vladdy did when the Blues had a substantially better record for a couple seasons if he wasn't playing.
I don't think Kyrou deserves the whipping boy label, at least not over the last couple seasons when he started backchecking, so I always want him in there.
