Maybe, and it's a big maybe, if Stone and Pierce and Burns are all healthy, they would be better. But there is no guarantee of that. What we are looking at, again, is at best, I think, another Gates team that could be almost very good. We aren't seeing anything that even hints at exceptional.
I was guilty of drinking the kool aid after the first eight games, but the last two have brought me back to earth. The guys Gates brought in over the summer are a joke. Burns was touted as a difference maker...not this year folks. Boateng looks overmatched every time he plays and Ant is up and down. Crews will be good some games and they'll be others where he won't be able to hit the side of a barn. Mitchell is the only who is capable. Gates is responsible for putting this team together and he continues to fail, not only in game management but in recruiting and developing talent. Next years recruiting class will not help this year. Fasten your seat belt folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

.500, at best.
A total lack of coaching and talent.

Weren't Pierce & Robinson top rated recruits a couple years ago & Boateng last year? Ant has been good most of the time, but Pierce was just okay and "hurt" this year & Boateng still looks very raw. kU's top recruit looks ready to go (even after sitting out for a month). (He also looks about 30.) I'm sure he was higher ranked than our guys but...

Yeah, I'm not seeing development in a big way. Boateng was a 4* but looks far from it. Great athlete, not so great basketball skills.
