Well we agree thereggnoobs wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:16 pm And I will just say as an aside, that this is pathetic for baseball that the sport has gotten so bad that Noot is considered a borderline budding star. It's really kind of pathetic how bad hitters are outside the top 5 or so.
There's just not that many great hitters any more. In 2025, there were only 18 players with an OPS of .850 or above. Even just 15 years ago (2010) there were 35 players with an OPS of .850 or above. Hitters just suck now, mostly.

I literally couldn't care less, I will be happy to see him go. I am just saying if you don't think there's value there, you don't know the current state of baseball. The fact that he has interest proves my point, and is evidence you don't know what you're talking about.Adam2 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:11 pmOk Ms. Nootbaarggnoobs wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:09 pmHe was hurt all year. That's why he had surgery as soon as the season was over.
His last "healthy" season was 2023 and he had an OBP of .367 which is very good. It was 17th in all MLB that year.
Teams see that the potential is there. Staying healthy is the greatest obstacle.
the proof is in the interest from major league teams, obviously they see the upside.

I would trade him, too. But I would not concede any value in the return based on his heels. He's a statcast darling and you pay full tilt or take a walk
Re: Noot showing most interest per Ms Woo
I agree, trade him.Goldfan wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:16 pmWoo said during that interview that both the Cards and other team are looking past the surgery like its a non-issue.
Trade him NOW…..Seriously if these other teams think they’re getting some Jewel…..make the deal BLOOM
Baseball is so bad right now that he is considered good, which is why he has a trade market.

The entire globe is scanned for pitching talent. The money, people, and technology poured into develop these pitchers has never been more. The fastballs are faster, and spinning stuff nastier than it has ever been. Hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports.ggnoobs wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:16 pm And I will just say as an aside, that this is pathetic for baseball that the sport has gotten so bad that Noot is considered a borderline budding star. Another reason to respect and appreciate having Burleson's hitting ability (.290 BA) as a relatively young Cardinals' player.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:20 pmThe entire globe is scanned for pitching talent. Yes, we appreciate our Silver Slugger Superman. I wonder though if there might be a team out there that appreciates him even more than we do? Hard to fathom someone loving Burly more than us?Shady wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:31 pm"The fastballs are faster, and spinning stuff nastier than it has ever been. What you have to have to trade Burleson coming into his prime? Team control, low cost. Maybe a comparable RH hitting young outfielder or a #2 starting pitcher prospect. Maybe both. I’m not making excuses I’m stating facts if they are interested in they must think the same thing and he was playing the same reason as Winn kept playing they wanted to play. Any intelligent person would know since he had surgery to fix them they were obviously a problemGoldfan wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:10 pmIf his poor heels were hurting that bad then why was he playing?? Team was out of it in 2nd halfOzziesfan41 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:05 pmI guess the thinking is he played all season with bad heels which would have an impact on his production. I think he could have a really good season if he stays healthy the problem is I don’t think he can. But he will probably be like O’Neil cards will trade him then he will have a good season where he manages to stay somewhat healthy and the same ones that flamed him will be saying how stupid bloom was for trading him the same way they did with O’Neil in 2024 flaming mo for trading him
The excuses for this guy year after year are truly hilarious
Re: Noot showing most interest per Ms Woo
Perhaps I missed it, but I never heard during the season that both heels were bad…..so where is this coming from that he was injured the whole season ? Heels could’ve deteriorated the last couple weeks of season……Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:48 pmI’m not making excuses I’m stating facts if they are interested in they must think the same thing and he was playing the same reason as Winn kept playing they wanted to play. Shady, we're hijacking this interesting Nootbaar thread with this Burleson talk. Maybe we could start another thread? What do you think about the possibility of Nootbaar being traded?Shady wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 16:43 pmWhat you have to have to trade Burleson coming into his prime? Team control, low cost. The great interest in Noot should be met with a strong desire to be rid of him for an excellent return. Work on it Chaim!
Re: Noot showing most interest per Ms Woo
Don't be a nitpicker. Lets make this inclusive. Whatcha; think? https://kingsofkauffman.com/the-cardina ... kbgb5mm744 Ok, to make this a part of the Nootbaar OP. Who has the greater trade value, Nootbaar or Burleson? Evidently, the OP claims a lot of interest in Nootbaar.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 17:04 pmShady, we're hijacking this interesting Nootbaar thread with this Burleson talk.
