Thats why guys who are elite finishers just romp but it’s like strength training tons of reps with no weight on the bar.
But he can’t be called up til his junior season is over. We should get to see him play for Team Canada in the WJC soon that should be a better test

Re: Carbonneau: 21 goals in 21 games video
Oh, I hope you're right! Beyond a few highlights and his limited time with this year's team, I haven't seen Carbs play at all. Nor had I watched Bolduc's pre-NHL play. I was just making a point. Unless a kid is really, and I mean REALLY dominating a league--such as averaging 2 goals or 3 pts per game--it's tough to predict and thus for me, to get excited, about what players do in the minors.Nublues69 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 14:32 pmYeah um no bolduc did not do the same thing he was all finesse. Carbonneau is more of a power forward. I liked bolduc a lot but carbonneau is better . on a worse teamblackinkbiz wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 10:43 amFWIW, Bolduc essentially did the same thing at the same age in the same league and now everyone here says he's a JAG.Galatians221jb1 wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 18:20 pm https://x.com/stlbluesmuse/status/19949 ... 00064?s=46
Can he be called up?
And no, I asked same question the other day and he can't play in the NHL until his juniors eligibility is over for the season, or something like that.
But I'd love to see Carbs come up and average just half his minors GPG.

It's official - you do know a lot about hockey.
I also know that no one, in the history of ever, could predict who gets injured and when.
Re: Carbonneau: 21 goals in 21 games video
Even if Bolduc was “expendable” (arguable at best), you don’t just trade him for anything. I hated the trade the minute it was announced. What I know now has not changed it one bit

You must have me confused with someone else because I spent the entire summer telling people raving about Carbonneau (who I picked out in advance of the draft and called myself on Carbonneau Watch, in the draft, in real time) that Dvorsky was our clear cut #1 prospect and was going to be a high end NHL center. Many people should remember this, I was a broken record on boosting Dvorsky. I asked kimzey what the over under on NHL games this year was and I took the over 50. Etc ...Nublues69 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 17:28 pmYou said dvorsky wasnt ready and he is 2cseattleblue wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 15:34 pm Again he’s not ready for the NHL because in the NHL there is not the same level of opportunism that there is in juniors. edit: when people said who do you think would make the team out of camp I'd say Dvorsky, and my answer for "dark horse" was Kaskimaki, I called him Darkhorsimaki. Armstrong really likes him - he's a Swiss Army knife player. I saw him make some nice plays in Springfield but also some glaring mistakes. He's kind of a tweener, but they are going to give him a shot to steal a spot with Walker out.

This is why it's called the insane asylum. You try to make a logical point around here and most replies jump straight to an emotional overreaction that totally misses the point.
I couldn't care less that Bolduc's a Canadien. My point is around the same age and league they both posted a goal per game and many think Bolduc is now JAG.
So while I definitely hope Carbs comes up here and kills it like an All-Star, there's a lot of players who post a goal per game down there.
Long story short, I've been burnt by so many Cards prospects that completely flopped my doubt is now so ubiquitous it affects my NHL judgement. lol

Re: Carbonneau: 21 goals in 21 games video
Because the Blues will be extending Snuggerud (whos better), Holloway and Neighbours will be ready for another contract soon likely large increase. Also the Blues have Stenberg, Kaskimaki, Carbonneau among others coming online soon. The Blues made the determination that they prefer these other options vs Bolduc and the Blues have very little RHD depth so the trade absolutely makes sense. Army made a comment to the effect that they see Bolduc basically as a 3rd line playerBalotelliMassive wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 15:07 pm Not sure how anybody can label Bolduc as expendable....not with the injuries the Blues have faced.

To be sure Bolduc was never "goal per game" in the Q btwblackinkbiz wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 21:11 pmSC Bluenote wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 18:58 pmLet it go dude. Bolduc's a Canadien. 105 goals in 126 games isn't quite a GPG but it's pretty close. Probably should have picked a different player to use as an example.
For the record, I hope Carbs averages a goal per game in the NHL. I'm just saying it's really difficult to use minors or juniors' numbers as a future indicator of NHL production. It's the guys who average 2-3 pts per game down there that project as the future stars.
Apparently, I'm insistent on projecting my pessimistic curmudgeonism because of all the prior STL prospects who've fizzled out on us. lol

Re: Carbonneau: 21 goals in 21 games video
I think everyone would agree the OHL stats are one indicator when they get to the AHL we will get a better look. So far i would say Carbonneau is a higher end prospect than Bolduc for a number of reasons, RH, bigger, physical, skates, hands but as any of us would say time will tellblackinkbiz wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 11:07 amHarry S Deals wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025 08:44 amTo be sure Bolduc was never "goal per game" in the Q btwblackinkbiz wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 21:11 pmSC Bluenote wrote: ↑02 Dec 2025 18:58 pmLet it go dude.
