Bedard had 67 points last season.
He's at 37 already this year.
Even the best prospects take time to learn and develop.....waaay too early to say what we see is what we have for our prospects.
But no, very likely there's no Bedard or Celibrini in our group.
I see nothing “special”..

At least 3 too slow, past their prime players get in their way. Particularly on the forward lines. It's hard to get noticed nationally when your team is no fun to watch out of market. Put those three on the bottom line, or at least NOT on your two highest producing lines. It's too bad they get paid what they get paid, but don't compound it by trying to rely on them on the ice so much.

The Blues have not had top picks in the draft for 17 years..
Every young kid in St Louis wanting a jersey knows the drawback of that.
Every NHL city knows the drawback of that--except St Louis.
Every NHL owner knows the monetary benefit of "staying competitive" every year till the end. Only St Louis makes that PRIORITY #1.

Snuggerud, Dvorsky, even Bolduc all have great shots. I guess we are good at drafting guys with lethal shots. But nobody is showing "flashes of brilliance" as they say, so I tend to agree. But we haven't been drafting particularly high either.diehardbluesfan1 wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 21:42 pm I’ll begin with I realize all three are rookies, but I see no plays that dazzle me from Snuggy, Dvorsky, or mailloux. None.
These are supposed to be our influx of talent and I’m not seeing anything that just wows me like all of the other teams.
Look at the other up and coming teams with young guns.
Ducks, sharks, canadiens, mammoth, hawks, Philly, kings, ect.
These teams are all on the rise and I just don’t see us keeping up with what we have at all. Sure some top teams will begin to plummet due to aging stars, but we haven’t had a true star for a couple decades. I agree, it may be time to sell off, let the kids play, and hope for top 3 this year.
Lose Schenn, Faulk, binner, sunny for what you can get.

Good synopsis. Snuggy is going to be a solid 25 goal scorer I hope. Dvorsky, to me, is the one I want to see more out of. There are glimpses of the Top 10 talent where he was drafted, but the sample size is too small. For example, don’t think he had a very good game last night. Hoping he turns into a 60-70 point center over the next few years.Bluesfan1988 wrote: ↑01 Dec 2025 23:30 pm I get what the OP is saying.
They're expecting a talent like Celebrini and our best prospects look like decent average NHL players.
St Louis is hungry for a star player to elevate this team. The hype for players is there, but the delivery is lacking.
But to your point, fans want a player like Leo Carlsson, and we just don’t have any right now.
